Geoffrey Yunupingu

It was 'Australia for the White Man' for my childhood, and coming from the country, I know something about racism.

Therefore I am very moved by Geoffrey Yunupingu. He sings in 'language' as the Aboriginal people say, and was born blind.

But listen to this. It is extraordinary.

Wow, very, very beautiful and touching. Even though you don't know what he's saying you can tell this music means something.

I was intrigued by the "in 1954" passage. I found his homepage and there are some English translations on there: http://www.gurrumul.com/flash.html
Unfortunately it doesn't allow me to cut & paste.

I have a firm and absolute belief that a love for music and bigotry can not peacefully coexist.

Just got the album today.
Had to import it from Oz as it wasn't in the MSN catalogue - shame on them.
It still blows my mind.
