I'm such a klutz!
I was walking down the stairs from the library and I fell. Two people asked if I was OK and after a moment I said yes because it didn't hurt that much. After about a min it didn't hurt at all.
I walked all the way to the bus stop and all the way home from the bus stop with no problems.
I was going to go walking again.
But then I got home and I tried to sit with my left foot underneath me and it was very painful!
I checked my foot and my ankle was all swollen!
I'm guessing it's a bad idea to go walking 3.77 miles?
My ankle hurts.

(((Deneb))) I hope you weren't wearing heels!!
Definately take at least a week off from walking...more if you can feel any remnants of hurt.
Stay healthy!

Hi Deneb,
Ouch...You must be a tough cookie not to have noticed it until you got home! Maybe you should ice it to take the swelling down. No walking for you for at least a week like Rose said...only pleasant chatting with Rose and other babblers like myself
for awhile. :) It's fun to chat with you both, Deneb and Rose!Stellabystarlight

you better get some ice on that and call a dr in the morning if it still hurts
be nice to your ankle, it has to take care of you for a very long time
I have had a few really bad falls (apparently I am a super klutz)
one time part of my arm swelled up to the size of an orange...it was disgusting truly
but I am an *ssh*l*, so I didn't go to the dr
I've got a few of those stories..obvious times when I should have gone to the dr, but didn'tanyway, take good care of it!!

I have tons of stories about my falls! Once I fell FLAT ON MY FACE in the MIDDLE OF THE MALL!!! And it was Christmas time so it was packed. I was so embarrassed I just lay there several seconds thinking, I don't even want to get up because I am so humiliated. Then some lady came up to me and said, "Are you alright?" and I finally got up. I've also fallen and hurt myself fairly badly, blood running down my arms, and I've fallen while walking beside someone while talking. My friend said, "I was talking to you and all of a sudden, you just disappeared!" Other people actually call me Queen of falling!
But enough of my humiliation, I hope your ankle gets better, but if not, be sure and get it checked out. This is a legitimate reason to take time off your walking, which is very impressive BTW!

I wasn't wearing heels. I rarely wear heels. I wasn't even wearing my Mary Janes. I usually wear Mary Janes with a platform. Sometimes they are unstable on uneven ground.
I was wearing running shoes. LOL
My ankle feels a little bit tight now and it doesn't hurt unless I press it. It's only slightly swollen.
I think I should be OK to walk.

I iced it right away after I got home. Iced it and elevated it. I think it helped a lot. I can't see any bruising right now.
Last time I sprained my ankle there was some bruising.
It must be a very mild sprain.

Oh wow, sorry about your falls. It's no fun. I'm not usually injured by my falls. It must be because I'm so close to the ground already. LOL (I'm 4'11")

Oh wow!
Falls are kind of embarrassing LOL, but it's probably not as bad as we think. I see people fall and I don't usually laugh at them, especially if they are hurt.
I hope you don't fall again. What kind of shoes do you wear?

Deneb hows the ankle today? If no swelling or pain I'd continue walking just not as far to see how you do. Stiffness can set in if it is only bruised. Now that's just what I'd do. Phillipa

I see people fall and I don't usually laugh at them, especially if they are hurt. You're right, but you can't help but feel like a freaking idiot! But most people are concerned and try to help you. I just hope by sharing my super embarrassing situations that maybe it will make someone else feel better if they do the same thing.

I hope I don't fall again either, but I'm sure I will! Akward shoes have accounted for about 50% of my falls, the rest was pure clumsiness!

Not long after my fall in the mall, I heard this DJ talk about how she fell flat on her face in the mall while wearing these crazy platform shoes. It definitely made me fell better!

Hi Deneb,
I trip over things that aren't there, so I'm with you on falling.
My mother once fell down the stairs at a store, got up, pointed at me and said "she pushed me." thanks, mom.
Definitely don't walk far until your ankle heals.

Thanks Phillipa.
I'm pretty sure my ankle is OK. It doesn't hurt. It's still a little swollen, but that might be brusing as you said.
I walked 3.77 miles again today, but very slowly, at 2.6 mph. It's all good. :-)
I'm going to walk again tomorrow morning.

Wow, what an awful thing for your mom to do!
I hope she was joking!
