I've been bad. I had not filed my taxes for 2006 and 2007. I was pretty sure I didn't owe any money and would get a return so there wouldn't be a fine for being um very very late. LOL
I love H&R Block. LOL They make taxes so easy.
I'm totally intimated by doing my taxes and I just hate them with passion. I don't think my taxes are that complicated to do, but I always shut down when faced with them. I don't feel competent because I don't understand a lot of it and I'm afraid of getting something wrong. Plus I do usually get something wrong.
Anyways, H&R Block were great. I went in with a bunch of disorganized receipts and T4 and T whatevers from all different years and they helped to sort through what was needed and what wasn't. I was even missing a T4, but with a simple phone call the H&R Block associate was able to get and confirm everything.
So I got a huge return!
H&R block got a small cut of it, but for this it was worth it. LOL I feel sooo much better now with this out of the way and the money in my bank.
I really should try to learn more about taxes though and maybe try to do them on my own to save money, but I've been spoiled by H&R Block now and I'm not sure I'll ever do my own taxes again. LOL
Just like how I'm spoiled in regards to waxing my overgrown eye brows. I used to pluck for the longest time, but one day I discovered waxing by a professional and I haven't plucked in about 2 years. LOL
Yay! My savings account increased by more than 1/3. :-)

I guess no penalty if getting a return? Never did my taxes had someone an accountant do them when living on my own. Phillipa

~~~~~ I guess the 'penalty' would simply be that the government has had the use of your money during that time interest-free!! If you're late paying THEM, you have to pay them interest.

Geee..you sound just like ME! A couple of years ago, when I was in the REAL winter of my depression, I didn't do taxes for two years in a row. (Like you, figured I was gona get back.)
I went to H&R Block TOO, and they just sorted through the mess, and I think it was my school money that got me much of it back. Yea, they where great! I go every year now!..hehJay

I hate taxes so much LOL. I wonder how a lot of people get their taxes done? Like people who are mentally disabled and stuff?
Maybe they all go to H&R Block.
I'm not depressed and I still have trouble doing my taxes, I can only imagine how hard it'd be to do taxes if you can't even shower or get out of bed.

I think i did my taxes wrong...i just filled in the blanks on an online form and sent it in...
everything seemed to turn out ok, though. I don't make enough for it to matter anyway

And it is hard when you are disabled mentally, physically...
So screwed up that you remember, then forget, then freak out...
