what they're really talking about are themselves. there are people out there who will do anything to try to destroy my life. i say have at it, if that's what you want to dedicate your life to.

I've definitely been there! Its the most frustrating feeling.

I bet its more about themselves than you. They are probably so unhappy with themselves that they have to put you down to feel better. Unfortunately there's a lot of people like that out there. But you're right, let them have at it. The only way they win is if you give them the reaction they are looking for.

I don't have the calmness or energy to watch the video but I like Nickleback a lot.
I am so sorry you're going through a rough time. You don't deserve to have people being mean to you.
I don't know if you believe in 'karma', but I heard something once that I've thought of lots over my life....I heard that if someone criticizes you, they take on your "bad karma" & you get their "good karma".
Sounds like a pretty good trade to me!!
But it doesn't take the hurt away.
I hope you have people in real life who are nice & who care about you.

for a couple lines in a couple songs i was listening to (in the 'privacy of my own home'!). i don't relate to every line of every song, all right. just because a song says something does not mean i relate to it. sometimes i just relate to a general theme. believe me, i don't operate out of ego anymore. so i wasn't thinking i was 'superior' in any way. good grief. why don't you people stop trying to find something in me to hate. what's the challenge in kicking someone while they're down and vastly outnumbered anyway? i have no concern for what you think of me anymore. it doesn't matter. god is watching all this, and i see now that he's persisted in giving me this soap box for a reason, whether i like it or not..apparently he thinks i can handle this. it only matters what he thinks. we can all change. or we can continue to torment others who are weak and downtrodden. the first is definitely a much more noble pursuit...the latter, cowardly.
those of you who continue to assault me better pray you never have to know what it's like.

My gosh - if I were to be judged by all the words of all the songs I listen to - well I dunno!!! I like a lot of heavy metal songs - I love some Metallica songs - not all of them, but when I listen to songs it's almost always the music I'm listening to - not the words!
I send my love. There's a saying, "Take it where it's coming from." If something is coming from loving, caring people, it's probably worth much more & worth considering than if it's from stern, judgemental, unaccepting people. I used to say to my kids "put your duck-suit on" - let it roll off your back like water off a duck's back!

When I lived in the same house as my Mom, she constantly criticized me. I remember I was sitting there watching 'Friends', and she stood in the doorway saying in her hateful voice, "All they ever do it have affairs on this show!" like it was my fault or something. Then I was being lazy for sitting around watching TV (when I had worked overtime that day to contribute most of the money for the household). Some people are just like that, and I've found its best to distance yourself (physically as well as by phone) from that person as much as you can. I hope you can do this. Your self esteem is taking a battering and nobody can put up with that indefinitely. I hope you can find a way to get some peace soon - you deserve it.
