He died? I met him more than once when lived in Westport Ct. He was so normal jeans and shirts and friendly he would go to Oscars Deli on main Street and eat bagels with the locals and read the paper. Supposedly he took the salad dressing recipe of Oscar's and formed his own salad business. It was a big stink at the time. Is Jo Anna Woodward still alive. I've been by their house a high wall and her dance studio next to it. Was in Weston I think. Wow Love Phillipa ps and what was the cause?

DH & I saw a nice video about Paul Newman today online.
He was amazing....donated, I think it was over $200million dollars to charities...formed a special organization for children with fatal illnesses where they could have really fun, positive experiences.
ALL the money from his popcorn/salad dressing etc business went to charity.
I am SO sad at hearing of his death.
That's amazing that you met him & he was so 'normal'.
thx for telling us. luv, Kath

There's a reason the proceeds from the salad dressing were donated as he used Oscars deli's recipe. It was a big stink in the 80's I think. But he was a nice man what kind of cancer did he die from? Love Phillipa

Easy very cliquey town and he was friends with Oscar. Love Phillipa ps I'm betting he asked and Oscar told him.

Found out he died of advanced lung cancer age 82. Last time I saw him he looked like Ralph Lauren sexy in tight jeans and a shirt. Sad. Love Phillipa
