My husband had to travel for work, so I was on my own yesterday and last night. So I had ice cream and cupcakes for dinner, stayed up late, and slept in late in the middle of the bed. Not ideal, but the dog and I made the best of it. He sent me lovely flowers that arrived about five minutes after he left. They are a gorgeous bouquet of lilies, gerbera daisies, and other jewel toned flowers. It smells heavenly and is very elegant in a low bowl.
He's back late tonight, and we plan to celebrate my day by going to an outdoor concert. It's probably going to be hot and muggy under the pavilion, but at least the venue is not flooded over as it has been in the past when the Ohio river crests above flood levels.
And annierose, speaking of rain, it's been good for the garden, and we haven't had any flooding problems, which is nice. We are the lowest lot on the street, though, and we have a storm sewer in the back of our back yard, so we do tend to become a back yard lake at times when it gets really saturated. For whatever reason, this last wave of rain, which totaled over 4 inches in a few days didn't do that, though. It seemed to drain pretty quick. My dad said he had some scary weather recently. I assume that you did as well. It's been a weird weather summer so far, it seems.
