I have been on 75 mg effexor for about one year. I have gone from 200 lb to 165 lb I am short of 6 feet and now very thin. I take the effexor in two doses of 37.5 mg because the one dose renders me innactive. My thyroid gland is healthy with a high amount of thyroxin within the average range. My wife takes the same dose but for a longer time. She has gained weight progressivly and has gained 60 lb but her thyroxin is not functioning well. She takes 120 ug thyroxin Does effexor potentiate the weight gain and loss. A year ago before effexor I was battling to keep my weight down at no avail. Now I don't try and it comes off.

Hi, and welcome to Babble.
The site has a lot of boards, and it can get confusing. I think your post will probably get more responses on the medication board, so I redirected it there. Here's a link.

Hope this helps.
