Hello,
My name is J.D. Stottlemire, President of National Alliance on Mental Illness Topeka Affiliate 2005-2007. When I was first hospitalized for treatment of Bipolar Disorder at the Menninger Clinic in January of 1999, I was very ill, sleep deprived and confused. None of the available materials on my illness were written on a level I could understand.
I resolved at the time to write an easy, short book that the newly diagnosed and their family members could hold onto during the first, dark hours of treatment.
If you have a moment, won’t you take a peak at the preview of book I wrote to meet this need “You Me and Apollo: Hope Beyond Bipolar Disorder” and see if you would like to forward this message on, make the book available to people in your program or to mental health centers in your area.

J.D.Thanks for posting. I will be ordering your book. I am a psychiatric nurse, and have mild bipolar. What an accomplishment for you! Congratulations. I'm sure others will benefit from your book.

Great Polar Bear! Good luck. I so want my book to get to the folks out there who, like me, were so lost when they hit a psych. setting, they couldn't really read manuals and just needed talked to in plain English.
I don't charge for public readings if your close enough for me to reach. I'm in Topeka.
