Princess Anne Goes A Over T - Fill In The Blanks

Posted by Quintal on June 13, 2007, at 10:23:56

Apparently she slipped on cobbles while on walkabout in Guernsey. The bailiff escorting her went to the rescue but was politely rebuffed:

"No, don't do that, thank-you. Grabbing me round my... (inaudible) won't help," Princess Anne, 56, said. "I'm perfectly capable of getting myself up"

She should have been grateful someone tried to help her maintain her dignity. Love Phillipa

Sorry to change the subject, but I saw posts from some name like Quintissimo or something & thot you'd changed your name due to the whole hacking situation or something. No?

Anyway, glad you're here.

I like the emotional reticence of (much of) the Royal Family and hope they are not persuaded to conform to the spirit of the times.

"The Queen" is good, as of course is Helen Mirren.

Then again, the Princess Royal is a little brisk for me.

Thank you, it's good to be back! I had to change my posting name to Quintillian and Quertin on the night of the hacking because the hacker repeatedly stole my password. Dr. Bob kindly restored my old posting name so I could use it again after being blocked for a comment I made as 'Quertin'.

Yes, I'm thinking of that excruciating photo of the Queen sitting down to a cuppa in someone's shoddy Glasgow council house. Part of a publicity campaign to show she had the 'common touch' after Diana's death. But I did enjoy "Queen Camilla" by Sue Townsend.

It seems the word in question was 'ears'.

The 'inaudible' part might have been engineered to provide a bit of sensationalism on the part of journalists? Anne's quite notorious for her fruity language so they probably thought there was a story to be made in leaving the reader's imagination to fill in the gaps. Princess Margaret seems to have been one of the more interesting Royals in recent times.

I wonder if the Queen takes a sceptical view of all her contacts.
I imagine her entertaining the Ceaucescus at Buckingham Palace, and wonder what she thought of their food taster.
Did he sit at the table?

I wondered if Princess Anne said 'rear'.
Surely no one would have attempted to grab her by the ears?
