More Wimin' stuff...oyyyyy..the headache..help!!!!

Posted by Jay_Bravest_Face on May 30, 2007, at 21:13:45

Okay...I am going to likely be pounced upon as sexist, or devaluing women...or whatever. But...I went into Wal-Mart tonight, had to pick up a few things, stuff. So I get to the checkout, and their is this sweet looking girl behind the till, trudging along for her 6 and whatever dollars an hour. I try to be very nice, and strike up conversation with her. We actually turned out to know a few of the same people. Then she gives me this look of death, like I am something disgusting or something. Why didn't she take warmly to me?
I am a guy who makes far plenty enough money so a gal like that (who could be say, a date?) wouldn't ever have to work at Wal-Mart-Mart. I never, ever EVER show off for it's sake, but I handed her my Gold Visa, and she asked about where I was working. I told her I was a clinical social worker. Then she just threw the stuff at me and basically said.."get out of my way". Can't impress women with intelligence and wit, so I 'hint' I can be a good provider of everything..be responsible...all of that stuff. Just can't win.:-(

Anyhow...TC...when are we getting married? :-)

Jay

Maybe she had some sort of bad experience with a social worker in her past, who knows? Don't be so quick to take the blame for her bad attitude. And I know you've had some experiences with women being into money, but not all are. So don't let the money hungry women mess you up for the ones that aren't!

As for the marriage proposal, you may have to fight with kk over that!!! She's awfully persuasive!

Jay, maybe she has a boyfriend. Maybe she likes the flirt more than the consequences...

Maybe she's putting you on her list of potentials once she dumps her current guy.

maybe she's scared of men, but enjoys the attention... until it gets too close.

just speaking from personal experience (I am guilty of all of the above)

**Warning** Lots of whining ahead....

Well, this seems to be a trend. I see a lot of single mothers, and I see a lot of the men woman choose. Gaawwdd..you know, I am doing exercise and weight loss, and like I said, I am set for life money wise...I have not a worry there. I don't want to hire a 'hooker', or , be a 'sugar daddy'..lol. But...damn..it's all so bad...so poorly arranged. I am far from being 'perfect'...ever. But, at my age, I could be a great father, husband, could live nice and comfortably. I am not conceited, but I've been told I am a pretty nice looking guy. I've got a bit of weight on my big build, but I will get it off. Maybe I need to buy a pick-up, drink more beer, and be "one of the guys..". Errrkkk. Nope. I like my Tiburon. (Hyundai). hate beer, and if I had the money, I'd buy a home in the South of France, sip wine, and swim in the Mediterranean. Heck, maybe I should just adopt a child and have a "pretend" family. Women out there...what the *&%$ do you want? Heck, I feel like going up to the 7-11 and giving the cute cashier 1,000 bucks and ask her to go out with me. Is that what it would take? Oyyyy,,,

she saw his act and said, 'i hated it. i can't date someone when i don't respect what they do.'

he responded, 'you're a cashier.'

i always thought that was funny.

jay, i'd probably date you, money, no money. it wouldn't matter either way hun.

just tell me, do you wear those track pants? (i guess if you said yes, it might even turn me on more...)

women are interesting creatures. i've never understood them myself.

Hi Jay, sorry to come out of nowhere, but I have lurked in general for a long time; posted for a spell a few years ago; and amongst many other people's threads, have followed yours with interest.

I'm just wondering if, in regard to the above, I've gotten things mixed up over time. I thought I recalled that a very real part of the problem in a fairly recent relationship was that the girl (ok, woman, whatever!) didn't seem prepared or willing to hold up her end of things financially or career-wise, and that was not something you could or would work with..?

Sorry if that feels intrusive, I'm just trying to get the circumstances straight, as I hope maybe someday I can contribute something that will be useful.

Best,

CQ
