I think there's a lot of pressure to have a certain kind of holiday!!!

I have gotten used to the fact that our family doesn't have the traditional 'family dinner' thing for holidays anymore. Part of me grieves this. Part of me accepts it & tries to be thankful for what there is to be thankful for.

Hugs to all for whom this will be a stressful or sad or otherwise trying weekend.

Love, Kath

Me three. I can picture my family at my mum's on Sunday, sitting together for a lovely meal. What's missing from the picture? myself.
These holidays creep up on me so stealthily and steadily that I can't prepare myself for the nostalgia and sorrow they evoke.

This past Christmas, I decreed - No Christmas Dinner. Same with Easter. I bought us a package of some M&M mini coated kisses that I'm hoping will remind me of Smarties (they are superior to M&M's in the taste of the chocolate and the fact that not only do they melt nicely in your hand, you can lick the coating and do some impromptu face painting. Very celebratory!).

We're going to a baseball game on Sunday; not very Easterish unless the team mascot starts to jump around like a bunny.

Great big hugs to those who are going to hold their breath until the holiday is over. (((((us))))
