Why do i have diffrent modes to myself?

Posted by rjlockhart on February 25, 2007, at 14:19:46

I have many modes that switch in.

1. Serious, like to discuss things

2. I like to just make dumb jokes.

3. I think there is something wrong with me - which lately has been off me so i havnet been in torment.

4. Feel very Charismatic, warm, talkative around people.

5. Then i just get cold, zoned out, think about things....

I dont know.

I need to check myself in.

Hey Matt,

I think most people have different parts to themselves.

I certainly do. Here are some that come off the top of my head:

- Empathetic - putting myself in others' shoes & feeling how I'd feel if I were them.

- Outgoing - wanting to talk with people; be friendly with people; interact with people.

- Couch Potatoe - wanting to just STAY HOME INSIDE ON MY SOFA thank you very much!!!!!

- Adventurous - this particularly kicks in when I'm out in nature. I love to, for example, if I'm on a trail, try a different way to get where I'm going by going OFF the trail. I usually only do this if I'm with someone else.

- Shy - sometimes I feel shy & don't like to have the focus on me.

- Silly - loving to make silly jokes & fool around & be SILLY

So that's a few of the "me" types.

I don't think it's something you need to worry about Matt. See if anyone else comments.

Hugs, Kath

Kath I agree with you we all have different aspects of ourselves moods, whatever you wish to call them. Sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes worried, mad. All of these emotions make us who we are. Love Phillipa

Yeah I agree too. I dont think peoples personalities should be put in to 'boxes'. Who I am depends on so many different factors - who I'm with, what I'm doing, whether I'm tired, what way the wind is blowing!

I know I totally have different modes, and depending where I am and who I'm with depends (somewhat) on what mode I'm in.

I was talking about this with someone the other day, and he said that he had different modes, and his clothes help his distinguish which mode he's in. For work, his dress clothes, at home jeans, but if he's planning on doing work at home, or someone related to work is coming over, he stays in work clothes so he knows what mode he's suppose to be in.

Does this help at all?
