I have a new toy!!

Posted by Jo U.K on February 17, 2007, at 5:22:25

I'm probably a hundred years behind everyone else, but I have just got one of them Ipod Shuffles!
Its brilliant, a tiny wee pink thing, how on earth does it hold all them songs in it ( by the way I had to PAY my 14 year old to put the music on it - one step at a time!)
It makes so much difference - I have to drag my behind outside in the mornings to put the horses out, muck them out, walk the dogs and being able to do it to music just seems to make me so much more energetic.

Do any of you listen to music? I have everything from Slipnott and Guns n Roses ( I saw them at Wembley Stadium wayyyyyyyyy back), Red Hot Chilli Peppers,Evanescance, Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon through to Barbra Streisand, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Ritchie, Luther Vandross.
Whats on yours????
Jo

I didn't know what an Ipod was until last year. You're way ahead of me. Love Phillipa

It's neat not having to actually carry around CDs, huh? =D

I assume you're from the UK (from your name), so what's with all the American music? =p You guys are lucky, most of our (American) music is, in my opinion, terrible. I have mostly all British pop (mostly 80s) on mine.

On Mine - I have complete song collections of the following; Morrissey/The Smiths (my favorite musician by far - I have every song, every B-side, and most unreleased tracks, bootlegs, and demos from him), Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Human League, Madness, New Order, Dexys Midnight Runners, ABC, and a lots and lots of other individual songs of smaller artists (Siouxsie and the Banshees, Yaz, Duran Duran, Visage, many many others). Billy Joel is my few favorite American artists.

I wish I could have lived in the UK during the 80s and experienced that music. =( And if only I wasn't just a little kid in the 80s too. They just don't make that kind of music anymore. I would have fit right in. =)

Hi Michael,
Yeah, I guess I do listen to a lot of American music, I never really noticed that!
I was born in '71, so I was in my teens for the Duran Duran stuff. I was a massively in to Wham!
We are actually big Madness fans here, we have seen them 3 or 4 times, and they were GREAT.

One of my mates at school was a cousin of the singer in Depeche Mode, so I did meet them once, thoug it went right by me as I wasnt in to their stuff - I had to stay loyal to George Michael!

I loved Human League,Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Culture Club. Many times at nightclubs did I bounce around to Yaz and the Plastic Population - The Only Way is UP! Or Black Box with Ride On Time.Aaaah memories!
They sure dont make them like that anymore!
JO

Looked through my cd collection for some British artists, as Iwas feeling v.unpatriotic after the above post. Here's a few:
The Verve
Oasis
Paul Weller (the Style Council, The Jam)
Coldplay
Lilly Allen
The Artic Monkeys
The Police
Queen
The Who
ELO
Genesis
Jamiroqui
