Things are going pretty well

Posted by Kath on February 10, 2007, at 19:37:04

My son is getting more of his personality back every day!!!!!!!!

He is still pretty spacey sometimes, but he's getting up at a reasonable time, interested in going out to do things, has gone for walks in the forest, is going for 'ionic cleanses' to detoxify his body, is taking supplements, is eating well.

Is keeping his appointments with his case worker from mental health association, has applied for social assitance, went with me to the bank to set up a bank account, is taking his meds.

Lots of positives. WHEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Thank goodness!

And thanks everyone for all the support that helped me get through such a difficult time.

Today he phoned his bio-Dad in BC & it was a JOY to hear him talking on the phone!

He sounded SO much more like 'himself'....no pauses; no slurring; lots of comments & subjects initiated by my son; asking about bio-Dad & wife & commenting on that end of the conversation!

WHAT a relief! Of course, the worrier/anxious part of me sometimes almost 'scans' for things to worry about - this happens especially when I'm in bed. BUT I'm getting better at recognizing what's happening & controlling it.

Thanks y'all for your support.

love, Kath

PS - Ah'm not Suthahn at all y'all - but sometahms it's fun tuh throw in the occassional word. Ah think a Suthahn ayccent is SO cool!

Far from Suthahn - ah'm from the frozen Nawthun climes.

Thanks Gee - it's a BIG relief. Of course, my mind tries to make me worry; it searches for something to worry about, but I'm refusing it!

:-)))) Hope you're well, Kath

Kath, great to see the 'good karma' come back at you and your son. :) I won't be too far from your camping space up near Georgian Bay. I spend much of my summer at my folk's cottage which is about 6 miles from the West entrance of Algonquin Park. How come your hubby doesn't go with you? Even if he doesn't like it...drag him along, kicking and screaming..lol.

Best wishes,
Jay

*******Thanks Jay!!! I'm thankful for anything positive these days!!!!! I'm REALLY thankful for a let-up in stressful things.****

I won't be too far from your camping space up near Georgian Bay. I spend much of my summer at my folk's cottage which is about 6 miles from the West entrance of Algonquin Park.

*******Yo Jay - my friend has a place just outside Wilberforce. That sounds near to their cottage. This past July, friend let hubby & I stay at his place for a week. We drove past a lovely lake up to the entrance of Algonquin Pk & canoed across to a tiny island & docked & basked for the afternoon. It was lovely. So cool. Maybe you were even there then!! I can't remember Jay -are you an Ontarian??****

How come your hubby doesn't go with you? Even if he doesn't like it...drag him along, kicking and screaming..lol.

*******LOLOLOL - laffing like heck. June at Killbear is "Kathryn's Week Away!!!!" Inviolable (sp? meaning?) Last June I 'let' hubby come up for the weekend!!! I stayed around 10 days this past year. Hubby & I go camping at the Pinery Prov. Pk in August for a week together & on various other summer holidays together! "K'sWA" started one year when we camped at Killbear & hubby didn't want to go back the next year & I was SO upset; I wanted to go. So he said, "Hey, just 'cuz I don't want to go, doesn't mean you can't go!!! Take a friend, or just yourself." I was pretty freaked 'cuz how could I go on holiday when he had to WORK? :-) But he helped me get over that & I had a GREAT time & have done it since!! I already booked my site for this coming June!****

> Best wishes,
> Jay

****Thanks Jay. How are you? How is your family? How are school & the friendship area going? hugs, Kath****

OOPS

Just asked hubby about the West entrance of Algonquin Park & he pointed out that our friend's place is near the South entrance.
