Quiet on the boards today. So I guess everyone is working or out running errands or vacationing in a warm climated. Am I right? Love Phillipa

Hi Phillipa,
Neither applies to me. I've just been watching mindless daytime TV.

I've had class all day and I'm in a weird time zone anyway. So its 7.34pm here, when in fact, I guess you US/Canada are having your lunch!!!!!!
I wish I were vacationing in a warmer climate :o)

Phillipa...
I'm at work but when you work for state government, it doesn't always mean you're working.
If anyone is encouraged to seek government employment, just walk outside and shoot yourself in the foot. Same difference.
Sorry to blabber here but this is the only job I've ever had where one is encouraged to do the exact opposite of what makes good old common sense.
But anyway, yes, I'm at work.Stay strong Phillipa,
Phil

Hi Phillipa,
I've been running around doing errands while basking in the warm Florida sun between jaunts to and from the car. Sending you ((((Florida Sunshine)))) and happy thoughts.
Regards,
happykat :)

So I'm working and freezing! I've lived up north and I truly believe the cold down here is different somehow. It just goes right to the bone!

It's 22F or -6C here today. Was brilliantly sunny earlier but no sun now. No wind today & that makes a big difference, but COLD, nevertheless.
And I've gotta go OUT!!!!! poooooooo
Thought my counselling appointment was last nite; went at 7:15 pm & met the T coming out of the building. Turns out that was last week's appointment....this week's is tonite at 6 pm
I don't like going out in the evening. At least by now it's not really dark at 6 yet, so it won't be quite so bad.
I send WARM hugs, Kath

O-o-o-o 22F. I bet you didn't try to trot from parking to work without a coat! That's probably our biggest problem in Tx, you just don't expect it to be cold even though it happens every year. It always seems like some weird anomaly and everyone acts all shocked. "OMG its so COLD! I can't believe its so COLD!!! Its January and its COLD! What's going on???"

> -TI'm sure Kath would agree with me that's it's gotten colder overnight. It's -24 C, or -11 F., not taking into account the windchill. I hope my car will start.

LOL - no coatless jogs anywhere these days!!
Winter was so late coming this year that I had myself convinced that it was global warming & that HEY - we weren't going to get cold & snow this year at all.
Now I'm 'coldly' brought down to earth from my dreams of a spring-like winter!!
How hot does it generally get there in the summer?

Funny was born and raised in Connecticut and used to go out to get the mail in the snow barefoot. Also jogged with just sweats in the snow. Of course I was much younger. Now 48 degrees is too much. Wouldn't make it in Canada. Love Phillipa

Bare feet??????? YIKES.
It's about -9C here today. No wind, though, so that makes a different - if there's wind, it can feel SO much colder.
Let me go to my F/C thermometer......about 24F
:-)

I've never been barefoot in the snow EVER.
I've been barefoot in the inches deep rain puddles in the summer, but that's a whole different thing!!
Talking of cold, I was out filling birdfeeders & relocating them to try to outfox the squirrels & got pretty cold 'til my fingers were stiff. Came in about 3ish and am just NOW finally warmed up. I was actually shivering & the house wasn't cold!
THAT was a weird experience. I guess that is what it's like to get chilled through.
:-)) Nice to be warm, Kath
