You know, people talk about how they're getting to know themselves better and things like this. 'I don't know myself at all' and 'I'm really getting to know myself better'.
What does it all mean? How do you know when you know yourself?
?
Confused!

I don't know. I don't think we can ever really "know" ourselves because we are constantly evolving as individuals. I think throughout our lives, we are constantly finding things out about ourselves, though new experiences and connections with others. I think we can come to better understand ourselves and the things that have shaped, both positively and negatively, our personalities and our lives, but to truly know ourselves, I think, would be an exercise in futility and, perhaps, a bit boring.
Probably doesn't make any sense at all.

I don't know either and agree with above. And as you know I'm way older than you. Love Phillipa

For me, it's trying to figure out the "whys" of me. I have been and am a person who liked to figure out reasons and rationales.
I am not so naive that I can't realize I might be just making up stories to myself as to the whys, but if I am satisfied with that I think is the reason, I can accept and go forward --- sometimes. : )
Attempting to "find and understand myself" can have the duo-conficting reactions of helping me or keeping me stuck.
This is the end of the thread.
