Dear readers, I know that I'm beside myself with excellence. Yet I humbly, yet in the most narcissistic way possible, beseech you for feedback.
Please help me understand myself (or perhaps, understand ourselves, like understanding me is possible?) There I go.
I'm beginning to think I'm too excellent for Babble. Please help me.

while you do your fake hugs.
I whither and die.
I'm withering and dying here SLOWLY (guess that goes with withering)
I think I might be the next one in your book. I'm tying up loose ends.
by that i mean a couple years - to make sure my daughter is all right. If they told me I had a terminal disease I would freaking celebrate and hope they give me narcotics and I might have a meaningful relationship with a hospice nurse. That's my fantasy anyway.
If I'm not blocked already, maybe I can say in closing, that I truly hate this site.
I suppose that I offended somebody and I got my wish. I probably won't be seeing you ever.

You freeze me out. And when I'm gone you'll go back to your games. Take my word for it, you people are vicious even within babble civility guidelines.
You are snide. Your deputies, Dinah and Gardengirl are allowed to snip and snide away. Once in awhile Dr Bob bails them out and usually blocks the other party.
What needs to be said, is that Dinah and Gardengirl have broken the rules, been snide, sarcastic, and belligerent without consequence. Others, for far less, have been blocked.
Both of them look for, and even itch, for a fight and yet you call them "deputies". Examine either's responses and they are hardly civil.
Basically, when the heat is on, (enough people complain) Dinah and Gardengirl just make themselves scarce. When enough people get blocked they come back and bully who's left. On a good day, Gardengirl blocks someone and says, "as you wish" likes she's their fairy godmother.
Dinah basically wants to beat people down yet smack em down in a "fluffy" way. Same crap Gardengirl pulls.
of a truth,

PWD? Been there, done that.
Dinah and GG happen to be human. Yup, they may have human tempers, and when pushed - they might actually react. They are our PEERS. This is a peer support board. So, peers volunteer their time for free to try to help out a community which has helped them. They want to pay back.
Yes, they might get grumpy. Who doesn't when under stress? Would you prefer the place to be run by paid psychologists? Well...sure. Would you like to chip in for their salaries?
Personally, I don't know why anyone would want the job. But then again, I don't understand why Bob puts up with abuse and threats from people who he gives this site to with his own money. It's all a mystery to me.
And No. I'm no fan of Bob's admin policies...but he pays the bills. Sorta like my father paid the mortgage when I was a kid, so I had to follow his rules.

Oh crap, now we are going to lose Verne for awhile.
Verne, I really enjoy your posts - your wit and your writing in general.
As you've stated, I know everything is about you but when you leave it affects your underlings too you know?
Take good care (and that is not a sappy babble thing either - I mean it).

Follow-ups regarding these issues, as well as replies to the above post, should of course themselves be civil.
Thanks,
ClearSkies acting as deputy for Dr Bob.

Well, my friend, I hope that you can see that I am one person (of a multitude, I am certain) who not only doesn't want to see you go, but I have a wealth of hoola hoop hugs that are offered in sincerity.
I treasure your wit, your wealth of knowledge, and everything that you offer here. I can only say that feeling that I am an outsider is something I have dealt with all my life. Sometimes I think there is NO inside. I just don't know. I like to think of this place as somewhere where we can be alone and all together at the same time.

Maybe I could do it with you, Verne. I could become a hospice nurse, you could get cancer, and then I could tuck you into bed, give you Dilaudid and read you "The Tale of Tom Kitten", a masterpiece of literary style conducive to placid reflection. I mentioned this on the main board, but they are so unconcerned with such things there that it went unremarked. The relevant section of the Tale concerns 'the dignity and repose of the tea party'.

you're so fine.
no fake hugs for you.
ClearSkies gave you a real hug. Take it. She's a damn good hugger.
I bet you're dissatisfied that we don't get mad at you?
I'm not allowed to get mad at people.
It's part of the rules.
my brain hurts.
why oh why?
cheddar and turkey? what was that weird sauce, and why is it causing strange words to pour out of my fingertips.

I'm sorry, but this has come up before, so I'm going to block him from posting for 15 weeks.
Bob
PS: According to the current system:
previous block: 6 weeks
period of time since previous block: 14 weeks
uncivil toward a particular individual or group: yes
particularly uncivil: no
different type of incivility: no
clearly didn't understand PBC and made effort to reply: no
provoked: no
uncivil in multiple posts at same time: no
already archived: noIf we take 14 weeks, divide by 10, and round, that's a reduction of 1 week. If we apply that to his previous block, that's 6 - 1 = 5 weeks. And if we triple that, that's 15 weeks.

I've got you this time, Brer Rabbit," said Brer Fox, jumping up and shaking off the dust. "You've
sassed me for the very last time. Now I wonder what I should do with you?"Brer Rabbit's eyes got very large. "Oh please Brer Fox, whatever you do, please don't throw me into the briar patch."

Are bunny tales like hugs? I hope not.
Have fun in the briar patch.
