That's why I'm still grieving the loss of my first dog who let me cry nightly into his fur when my Son was in Desert Storm and now we have a toy poodle, cat and supposed to get the pup I posted her pic on this site a few days ago or last week. They are our babies and dependent on us for all their needs. Love Phillipa

I agree, why is there always the comparison? When I was my most depressed I couldn't look after my cat who I literally loved more than anyone or anything. I still cry over him, and he's been gone two years.
I had to have him stay with my mother for over a year before I felt I could take him back.
I'm afraid I needed my prozac. This is no way a criticism of the posting of the article, it was interesting. I just wonder how people like the one quoted, can think they have enough knowledge to make a statement about what is better on a topic as personal as depression.

maybe they meant that pets are better because of lack of side effects?
I suppose big vet bills could be a side effect?

And after you get the Vet bill you need an antidepressant. So expensive. Love Phillipa

Luckily, my grandma is a cat lover, and paid for the vet visit :)
Because I can't afford it!
