I crawl out today from my own depressive hole to post this. I am shocked beyond belief at the *DEATH* in Lebanon, Iraq, and Afghanastan, especially of the innocent civillians by "soldiers". This quote comes to mind:
"If the radiance of a thousand suns
Were to burst at once into the sky,
That would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...
I am become Death,
The shatterer of Worlds."The Bhagavad-Gita
A leading theory is that Robert Oppenhimer, a creator of the atomic bomb, upon explosion of the first atomic bomb, did so with such deep remourseful, nihilistic reference to the divine Hindu trinity of Brahma (the Creator), Vishnu (the Preserver), and Shiva (the Destroyer). Oppenheimer had an avid interest in Sanskrit literature (which he had taught himself to read), and following the Trinity test is reported to have recited the passage from the Bhagavad-Gita that opens this page.
Many number of scientists disowned their field, never practising science again for the rest of their lives because of this.

There are probably still some post titles showing on this page of Social, because of the way the system works, but the actual posts have been moved to Politics.

And future followups should be directed there as well.
Thanks!
