I always liked Jessica a lot, or Megan. I also came across the name Sophronia once, and thought it was cool.

Had we had a girl, my husband and I had battled down to three possibilities. Catherine, Abigail, and Claire.
All lovely names, but I'm glad we had a boy because we were still battling.

Hi Wildcard,
How about Wildcard III?
No? No, not no as her name, though it's easy to remember because she'd be hearing it a lot.
Maybe Mandu or Chloe? Okay, those are two of my cats, but they're like my children. Mandu answers to Mandy, which is a real girl's name.
I shouldn't have gotten into this thread, I'm just not good at this sort of thing.

How bout Michelle or Melissa, or even Anabel then you'd both have an A for a first initial. My theory was think of someone that you can't think anthing bad about and name them their name. That's how I named my girls. My Son had his Fathers's name. Love Phillipa

How about Julia, or Jamie. The trick is, to choose a name that you can't make a bad nickname out of. I heard once about a couple who chose the name Amber. They thought it was pretty safe. Until the kid got into school and was nicknamed "Amburger".

Hey what about googling girl's names? I think I'll see if there's a website. Love Phillipa ps not phillipa as a name not that I thought you'd use it.

Does your local paper list the births? Ours does and I charted the names for several months. It was surprising what names came up most often. Names I thought would be unusual weren't at all. It's the best way I know of to make sure your child won't be xxxx #4 in class if that's an aim.
(BTW, we totally ignored the results and even though my son's name was pretty popular it isn't really a problem.)

Congratulations and best of luck with your new baby girl!! I became a mommy almost 5 years ago, and my little boy is my sunshine..the greatest love of my life.
Anyway...had he been a girl...His name was going to be Alyssa Taylor ...
His name ended up being Joseph Tyler a.k.a. Jo-Jo. :~)
Best wishes and hugs,
Faith~

When I have a daughter I want to name her Annemarie or Jaye Lynn (or spelled Jaelyn or Jayelyn).
Other good names: Amelia, Leah, Diana, Caroline, Sarah, Sage.
I do know that the names you like have become pretty popular lately (I work w/ kids). I think women have been naming their girls after their own grandmothers. That isn't a problem, you just have to decide how you feel about it.
I'll keep thinking. :)
Best,
EE
