I'm not doing well....

Posted by sleepygirl on June 19, 2006, at 22:21:17

I'm feeling kinda crappy, not sure what to do, feels like I should withdraw, but I don't think I really should right now, but I really, really, really, really want to....badly

Don't withdraw, that'll only make you feel worse. Has something bad or stressful happened recently?

What's wrong? Something specific or just that no-reason-what-so-ever depression?

I hope that you feel better today. I withdraw too when I'm depressed - I feel like I turn into a turtle. It's more like becoming an ostrich, though.

Take care

I understand, and sometimes I go hide out in the closet.

But if you think it would help, talking about what's upsetting you can be useful too.

Yep, I do the ostrich thing, too. And sometimes its a very useful thing to do.

Sleepy, I'm sorry you're feeling lousy. If withdrawing helps, do what's good for you. But don't stay gone too long. And maybe just say hello? Because isolating is one of those self-perpetuating things about depression that can make it worse, too.

Depression s*cks. Down with Depression!

doing better now, but that really sucked....

I felt absolutely awful for about two days. I think father's day combined with some relationship woes really knocked me over. I feel like I can breathe a little now. I have too much to do of course, but I managed to not have a really bad day today, so I'm feeling a tiny bit more hopeful. Thanks for the help. It means so much.
Love,
sg

Good for you sleepyg.
Hang in there. Do your best to recognize the power of your own conscious choice in how you react to stress. Somedays (like today) we just seem to have a little more oomph- a little more power to fight the dark place, the feelings that threaten to spiral out of control. I say we, because today I'm feeling a little more oomph than usual too. I'm on the edge, but I'm balanced (kind of?) fighting my way out of this one.

I'm so glad you got a little taste of hope. keep chasing it- soon you'll catch up :)

yours,
-ll
