Okay, we really needed the rain. I don't mind rain so much. Although I wish I'd gone out to do the gardenening stuff I need to do before going online the other day. I'd have beat the rain, then.
But does it have to be so cold now too? Brrrrr
Just needed to whine. This is why I used to hate Spring. Weather is such a tease.
Oh well. I did manage to pick an assortment of what's blooming in my yard right now, and I made a (I think anyway) quite lovely arrangement. Here's a pic: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/gardenergirl88/detail?.dir=5ed5re2&.dnm=a7cdre2.jpg&.src=ph
See ya! I'm going to go put socks on now.

I'm with you. I even got a pedicure yesterday and I couldn't even wear my flip-flops to work today (I can do that!)
My heart is warming up --- the Detroit Pistons play basketball tomorrow night and we are going to sweep that little team from, hmmm, is it Cleveland? Although, I was impressed that they came within 5 in the 4th quarter.
Pretty flowers BTW. We only have the usual growing right now - daffs and tulips.

rut roh...Although given the country is involved in a war, maybe a Peace lily is up against more than usual.
Good luck with the flowers. If they're annuals, make sure you wait til the "frost-free" date. Here, it's May 15, just around the corner.
And thanks,
gg

Thanks.
The one in the middle is a leaf bract from the tulip tree in my front yard. It's a very mature tree, and this time of year it gets these tulip-like leaf bracts, which look like flowers. It's my favorite!

I have seen the carpet roses. They make a gorgeous groundcover. Happy planting.
I'm not sure what you're seeing in the picture that suggests what state I live in, lol. But I'm in the midwest.

I SOOOOO need a pedicure! Of course now I have a few more days, until it warms up again. Flip-flops to work? How cool. So, do you love that sound they make, or hate it?

Although, I was impressed that they came within 5 in the 4th quarter.Did I mention I'm a Pistons fan? At least when I watch the NBA. I don't care much for any of the Cleveland teams, since we've got our own teams down here and they're doing well. :) But anyway, go Pistons!

Thanks. The daffodils and tulips are pretty much done here. It's hard to see in the picture, but there are light purple little bell-like flowers on a spiky stem in there. There some kind of bulb that I inherited with the house. I don't know what they are. I used to, but I forget. But right now it's sort of prime flowering shrub time. The lilacs are done, unfortunately, but my weigelia, which are the pink flowers in the pic, is stunning. We cut the thing down to the ground a year ago, and it's back up to about five feet high and wide, and filled with blooms. And a white spirea is right across from it and blooming now, too.
My rambling roses are starting to open, and the columbine is in full bloom right now.
Peaceful sigh. I love flowers!

Glad it was nice where you are. It's still cold and gray today, but at least the rain stopped.

gg I noticed the house I notice everything and it reminded me of Connecticut. That's why I asked. Guess there are a lot of places that look like that. By the way your home looks lovely. A full picture? Or are you uncomfortable with that. Love Phillipa

My team - what happened?
Okay, so we must win in 5 games.
My neighbor gave us free tickets for the first series and it was free hat day - my son was thrilled. I wrote a very nice thank you note - maybe they'll think of us next time they can't use their tickets at the last minute (he's a OBGYN - never know when he has to deliver a baby or two).
Still rained all day today with cold winds. A day I would love to sit by a fire and read. Instead I went to work. It was good though, we were very busy.
Hope to see you soon,
Annie
