This does not mean we do not like you or that you are not a good goose.
TRADITIONAL nursery rhymes are being rewritten at nursery schools to avoid causing offence to children.
Instead of singing “Baa baa, black sheep” as generations of children have learnt to do, toddlers in Oxfordshire are being taught to sing “Baa baa, rainbow sheep”.http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-2073043,00.html

I loaned them out, so I'll probably never see them again, but I had two books of politically correct bedtime stories that were hilarious. I wish I remembered the author.
Just did a web search and found an article about these books at GWU. Here it is:
http://www.gwu.edu/~germ701/adaptations/Ben/policorrect.htmThe author is James Finn Garner, and the books were incredible.

For our kids we managed to get a golliwog (took some time) and what was a lot of fun "Grimms Grimmest Fairy Stories" in an appropriately black cover. All the censorship from the Victorian times taken out and the original peasant stories as they were. The kids loved it and so did I. But they were pretty sad. Nothing though was as sad for me as Oscar Wilde's "The Happy Prince". I was in tears halfway through and the kids confused.

I've always wanted to get my hands on "How To Read Donald Duck". That link you posted was very funny in itself.

If only these people would put their energies into fighting oppression and injustice in REAL LIFE...

I LOVE them!!
However to protect the sensitivities of others and prevent anyone from feeling putdown or disparaged they MUST be rephrased.
