My husband is a really great guy

Posted by Racer on March 20, 2006, at 23:41:35

I have to remember to say that sometimes.

He knows that I still have major issues with going to certain areas of town, left over from the horrible agoraphobic times, and the pharmacy we use is in one of those areas. Usually, he gets a bit grumpy when I won't go with him somewhere, but tonight, he VOLUNTEERED to go there without me. And, come to think of it, yesterday he called in a refill for my Wellbutrin and went to get it alone. I think he's been doing that a lot, lately, and I don't think I had really noticed.

(And I do go sometimes, despite how freaked out I get. Just, I avoid it when I can.)

He really is a good guy, no matter how maddening he can be.

And I have to remember to say that sometimes, you know?

I know what that is like, Racer. To say that my husband is very accommodating of my depression and anxiety is a disservice to him. He helps me with so many situations that I find uncomfortable, to painful, to intolerable... he's a really great guy too.

Yeah, I know.

My husband is a really great guy too. And our differences complement each other well.

Why don't you change pharmacy?

All you have to do is take your near empty bottle to a pharmacy near you and ask them to transfer the prescription. They don't even have to be the same chain.

I do it all the time. Pharmacy A will give a $10.00 gift card for a new prescription, so I go there. Then pharmacy B will give a $25.00 gift card for a new or transferred scrip, so I transfer.

Competition down here is fierce right now. Between the gift cards and my insurance I hardly have to pay anything!

I'm sorry, jyl. All spouses annoy us from time to time, but it's hard being married to one who is verbally abusive or completely unsupportive.

Have you tried counseling? And I guess there's the classic Ann Landers question, Are you and your kids better off with him or without him?
