Anybody with more than one of you.........

Posted by muffled on January 13, 2006, at 12:12:18

help me out with this dissociative doll. Don't have to be did, can just have other ego states, or inner child, or whatever.
We'll call her Dee-dee (for dissociative doll)
I need to laugh at myself, I'm taking myself way too seriously.
I'm obsessing over how much I do/don't dissociate, and controlling it.
etc.
Muffled.

Reminds me a little too much of the Vermont Teddy Bear Co. coming out with a bear in a straight jacket with, I'm crazy about you as the message.
I love humor and not taking oneself too seriously but I also know people who struggle greatly with dissociative disorders. It's for them that compels me to speak up.

***I'm terribly sorry Phil. Full blown DID is a very frightening thing.
I wouldn't joke about dissoc. except I know there are lots of people here who struggle with it to varying degrees. And right now I am having a real bad time realizing the degree to which I have been dissociating. Its scarey to me. I really didn't know. Fortunately for me i truly for the most part have awareness of myself when I'm different ways. But I really had no idea.....:-(
So, I just was trying to lighten things up for myself and perhaps others if they wanted to join in.
I will not continue as I sure don't want tyo cause more pain. Too much pain around.
So, so sorry :-(

Muffled I thought of that too. Was trying to help you too. Fondly, Phillipa. ps laughting at yourself and not others is okay i think. Any feed back. Sorry if I was uncivil to anyone. Sincerely didn't mean any harm. Yes it must be a very frightening disorder.

Aww Muffled
I know I've not really posted to you, but I think you have one of the softest hearts of anyone I've seen on Babble. I'm pretty sensitive, but I didn't think about your post being hurtful. (No I'm not saying that it's not possible that anyone could be hurt by it) It just didn't occur to me in the way you put it)
I remember GinJoint and Sandra Dee and I laughing about making fisher price bi-polar people with bloodshot eyes, and little housecoats and slippers. I think the difference is what Phillipa said, it's a way of coping for yourself, and not meant to be a shot at others.
