Hi Alexandra,
I've read a number of your posts, and I've been wondering why you start a new paragraph for each sentence. Does it just happen that way, or do you format your posts in this manner in order to create a particular effect?
Just curious. . .

Yeah, I love how alex writes, its so cool isn't it? I personally find it much easier to read and understand when its written like that. I do it occasionally when I'm journalling. I should do it more, it really does help me to understand more. I've just never wanted to steal Alexs style from her.

Hey. I don't think I *always* do this... But yeah, I guess I do do it rather a lot. I guess I do it for readability.
Does it help with that?
Or would people prefer me to write in proper paragraphs?
I'm not too sure...

It kind of does *just happen*...
But I could write normally if pushed I suppose ;-)

Hello. You can write like that if you want to write like that. I don't mind. And I don't have a TM on that writing style either.
In fact... I've copied Dr Bob's style when it comes to quoting people so I really wouldn't be able to whine if yuo copied mine when it comes to writing in paragraphs ;-)

Hello Alexandra,
I think you should write the way you want to write. I think it was Eleaner Roosevelt who said, "Please yourself. Then, at least one person will be happy." That's not an exact quote, but that's the idea.
I was just curious about the style. I wondered whether you did it intentionally.
Thanks for explaining it to me!

do you think it does make my posts more readable?
or just odd?

In some ways it makes your posts easier to follow. In other ways, like when you realize that you are dedicating each new sentence to a new paragraph you realize that this is inevitably going to be a loooong post, you get tired before you start.
Sometimes that is all it takes for me to abandon the thread, and I do. Especially when you see things written like:
yes
yes indeed
yes it certainly seems that way to me....er, ALexandra, I get the point. It's rather like you are cointing the words in each post for a prize or something? Or more so, it looks like you are reading to yourself.
I try to strike somewhere in between. Generally people here know that when I have abaondoned punctuation that I am feeling mightly low indeed. When I stop using paragraphs I am probably five minutes most from passing out, but I always make it up to bed.
These days I make a controlled crash, take my meds before I start to post, and stop when I no longer catch all the spelling errors.
Night-night

i guess. though if i wrote in proper paragraphs there would be just as much content it is just that it would be packed in a much smaller space which would make it fairly dense to read... but yeah. i don't read all the posts out there. and sometimes i don't read posts that are a bit on the long side (more about me and where i'm at because other times i will read long posts)

or something...
just thinking aloud really.

because i was asking about my style regarding many paragraphs versus normal paragraphs. and that wasn't about the content. and that wasn't about the way i phrase things. that wasn't even about the style of my posts except insofar as i could write in more conventional paragraphs or i could continue to write in more paragraphs than most people tend to.
you are of course free to not read my posts.
i would hope that that wouldn't put you off reading other peoples contributions to the thread, however.i don't mind your thoughts.
thanks for sharing how you post, and for sharing what works for you.
sorry if you find my style (more generally speaking) to be not to your tastes.
but...
well...
(yeah i'm thinking as i go and i do express that)
that is me.sometimes.
and there it is
for better or worse

Actually, I like it Alexandra.
It's an easy format to read and follow.
But I can also sometimes judge what mood you're in from how much you use that style. Which helps me "read" it better.

Gotta agree with Dinah on this one.
I find your style easy to read and to respond to. It does tend to reflect your mood too I think, which is good.

Yep. I have a hard time with long, single paragraph writings. I'm guilty of it, too, so I'm trying to break them up more.
And when I read your posts, alexandra, it's like I can hear you saying it aloud. You often right as if you're thinking aloud as you type, and I can relate to that.
I think writing and style can, at times, say a lot about the person "behind" the words. Although in this medium, it's a bit more opaque. So it's nice to see some personality break through now and again. :)

I love it too. It makes me feel like I'm reading poetry. I've kind of incorporated into my image of you. I feel like I'm hearing your voice somehow.

I didn't read all the posts, and didn't realize you had already said this. Great minds think alike!
