Anyone ever experience this weird feeling?

Posted by Deneb on December 29, 2005, at 19:26:28

I get this once in a while. It is like everything around my head is trapped in cement or something. My mouth, my tongue, my head.

It feels strange and unpleasant. Is it anxiety?

Deneb

getting bored, can't you tell? :-)

I'm experiencing it right now. Let me see how long it takes...

Actually, I've had that feeling, intermitttently, ever since I can remember. My tongue feels like it is made of concrete and is about 4 times its usual size. It never seems to last longer than 30 seconds or so, but it is so distorted and Alice-In-Wonderland feeling that I've never worried about it. It something that I think is kind of neat and special.

Yeah, I get it very often. I can't figure if it has to do with anxiety, though I'm an anxious person.

"Neat and Special"
I like that, but I never would have termed it that way.

yep.. I think so...

I think I know what you mean.

I sometimes feel like I have a heavy head- like there's a magnet in my head or cotton stuff in my brain.

I also get the weird tongue sensation.

Mine usually accompanies this feeling of not being "real." I think the term is depersonalization.

It's disturbing. I hate it.

I do think it's anxiety related.

Jeez. I've had this feeling since I was around 5 years old or so, or when I started having to go to ballet classes. I'd get a stomach ache beforehand and puke, and sometimes at night I'd get the Golem tongue thing.

How enlightening.

it is kind of interesting, I guess some of us were born anxious.
When I saw my mom this Christmas, she said to me "You're still the kid who threw up before she had to go to Brownies aren't you?"
