You seemed really close. But, that's the way it seems in the pet world. You're playing with them one day--and the next thing they're gone. Good luck when you feel strong enough to buy another pet.

I did everything I could for Hammie. The vet said Hammie had cancer of the adrenal glands. He was still OK during the visit, but he died a few days later while sleeping.
I cried a lot. It was devastating. I cried so much I couldn't stop. I miss Hammie very much. I put him in a box coffin and I buried him in the backyard.
It got very lonely without Hammie, after about 2 weeks, I got another hamster...Sophie. I'm still getting used to Sophie. She is young and timid.
I will always remember Hammie. I sigh whenever I think of him. At least I don't cry anymore. I miss him so much. Sophie will never replace Hammie.
Here are some more pictures of Hammie.

Deneb I'm so sorry. When my l7yr old lapsapoo died and Sheba toy poodle had them cremated to bury them with me. They sit on my dresser in bedroom. I love my little Brandy more than myself. I emphathize with you and glad to see you back. Fondly, Phillipa

My teddy bear was called "Popeye", because his eye popped off and I never glued it back on. :(
I slept with him right up until I got married. Now I hug a pillow.

Matt, that's the name of my toy poodle that sleeps with me. A real life dog. He was born pure black and now has a silvery coat on his body head and feet still pure black. He's a year and a half old and the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. Everyone loves Teddy and he loves everyone and all other dogs too. Fondly, Phillipa

Deneb, I missed you, it's good to see you posting. I am sorry about Hammie. :-( That is so devastating when a pet dies, even when it's painless, even when they've had a good life. It's just so hard.
I'm glad you got another hamster. I hope you post some pics of her sometime.
