I do both as i save every penny. My plan..LOL..is to be rich before i'm 30~HA!
I read a book about little things to do to save and i added those little things up and it is A LOT after a year! Then there is an old saying,"If u wanna hear God laugh, tell Him ur plans." I think it comes from growing up dirt poor but I do buy my boys things (too much)! I just dont wanna live paycheck to paycheck IF it is possible and rt now if i budget wisely, I can have a home, etc., soon. I know blah, blah, blah ; )

I am the coupon queen of the universe!

I hardly ever pay full price for anything. I even got my tax id so I could purchase wholesale!

Rebates are a gift from God! This is why I love doing secret shopper jobs. I cash in on all I can. I also love to get paid to take surveys or evaluate products before they hit the retail market.

Extended warranties are a rip-off. Except for the ones when you purchase a home (and you can put in the contract that the seller pays for that if you're the buyer), or a used car.
Anything else you buy from a store should last longer than the warranty anyway. You're just giving them free money. If something goes wrong in the 1st 30 days or so, take the item back to the store.

And never get that spray-on crap the furniture store will try to sell you which comes with a warranty. It will actually void the manufacturer's warranty in some cases because it damages the fabric. You guessed it--I learned that one the hard way. (Bastards!)
