I have the concentration of a flea

Posted by sleepygirl on August 27, 2005, at 19:39:29

Unless fleas can concentrate really well?-you know on jumping and biting and all? I was trying to think of something that could accurately describe the miniscule amount of concentration I feel I am capable of at this moment, although I seem to be quite fascinated with my flea analogy.

I've been known to refer to myself as having 'the attention span of a butterfly'. Happy for you to share the phrase if it suits. i do think you're probably more butterfly that flea :-)

Ooo...are you one of those gorgeous, majestic monarch butterflies...all orange and black and looking too-cool-to-be-true?

Yes, I think you are.

When I was a teenager, one landed on my arm while I was sitting on the front steps of our house. I remember being so excited, and I held my breath so he/she (?) wouldn't fly off..it was so amazing.

Butterflies are so beautiful. Their attention spans are suited to their needs, I'd think. Maybe sometimes you need to flit silently from place to place, awing everyone with your wonderful-self.

Why, that sounds a lot like what you do on these threads!!

**patting self on back for that idea**

And Damos, don't you DARE try turning any of my words into something negative or bad...I....I...well, I just forbid it!!

Hugs (verry gentle ones) to our Babblebutterflies, Sleepygirl and Damos!

Well aren't you just the nicest, sweetest, 10derestheart. I am indeed honoured that one such as you could think of me so. Thank you my dear friend.

Yours in flitty flutteriness Damos

Hey, I just wanted to type the word

"Babblebutterflies"

Great, isn't it?

Far superior to Babblefleas...oh..excuse me, I have to scratch an itch...if...I ...can...just...reach it...

If you were here, I'd ask for help...;-)

Hey, sorry, SG, I.... » sleepygirl

...rudely hijacked your thread to go off on a tangent, picturing Damos (and you, too) as a butterfly...

..and then, apparently to shamelessly flirt with Damos about scratching an itch!

Hmmm, I could claim someone took over my computer and used my screen name...but then there's only the cat here...

Ah, well, I guess flirting online, and from several thousand miles away is the only possible way for some of us socially anxious, "self-esteem lower-than-a-flea's-belly-people... :-(

Sorry 'bout your thread....my concentration s*cks, too, better with ADD meds...but still not so great :-)

that's OK, you're always welcome in my threads:-) (nm) » 10derHeart

What an awesome thing to say....and I'd been having a night that suddenly turned sad and crappy, but...

Now I feel better. Goes to show you never know when the simplest kindness will really matter...

Thanks for posting that, sg :-)

Whoa, hang on, wait, wait just a doggone minute there. Did you say

> ..and then, apparently to shamelessly flirt with Damos about scratching an itch!

You did. You actually said that. I think I'm gonna faint. That'd be a first, a wonderful, beautiful woman shamelessly flirting with me. What a lucky, lucky man am I.

No fainting....just scratching...;-) ;-) ;-) (nm) » Damos
