Hi Mel,
I really hope your friend is okay, and I'm sending lots of good vibes and wishes his way, and in your direction as well. Please keep us updated on him and let him know that lots of online friends are thinking well of him and hoping he pulls through just fine. And I hope you're doing OK too. It's terrible when a good friend is sick. I'm thinking of you as well.JenStar

His wife emailed me that he is out of surgery ok but still in intensive care. He'll still be in the hospital for another 7-10 days, chemo to start shortly after.
All good vibes welcome!
But the first hurdle is passed and I'm relieved at that.

He had to go back into surgery. The last one wasn't healing right and he developed a leak (colon.)
Send more vibes, please.

This is getting old.
Two days ago they pulled out all the tubes (ivs, caths, etc) and they were talking about releasing him by this weekend.
Yesterday he was in severe pain. They've reinserted all the tubes (and the morphine) and are suspecting a kidney or bladder infection.
The kids are returning home on Wednesday (from Toronto.) I'm hopping a plane and meeting them there to ride home with them and I'll stay a bit to help out with getting them ready for school.
I'm glad to be going, but I hate the reason.

> I'm glad to be going, but I hate the reason.I'm sorry about the circumstances, but I know this is a visit that you will not regret making, no matter what the outcome. You'll be helping your friends when they really need it, and there is nothing on earth better than that. Really.
