I'm going out with the friend I don't like and another friend I haven't seen in a really long time. I don't really want to go. I'm so ashamed at what I haven't accomplished.
I feel like such a loser when I see what others my age have done. I don't want to go, I don't want to be social with people. I just want to be by myself.
I said I would go though because they were looking forward to seeing me again.

However, people don't choose friends on the basis of what they've accomplished, but on how nice/interesting/compatible they are.

im sorry i didnt read your post all the way.
im an idiot.
Listen i have social problems, i feel alot of times i cant relate to people, i have to force myself to talk, or drink tequila, or some mind altering substance to make me feel better about myself. Its all inside, you have to an image of yourself and act it out. I have learned this becuase i have been through so much time with isolation. Those pictures you see are me but its a frount. It all starts inside to change yourself. Deneb i have read your posts, and i have seen you struggle sometimes, i dont know you very much, but i wanted to give advice.

I went out to dinner with 2 friends today. We haven't seen each other in a long time, many months.
I wasn't socially anxious at all! I remember just how paranoid I was around people before...I think I really seemed crazy. Don't know why I'm not socially anxious anymore...it's nice. I just wasn't very talkative, I'm just a quiet person.
Being with "normal" people just makes me realize how disordered I am. Normal people have normal problems, mostly to do with relationships and their jobs. I don't think my friends will know what to say if I ever told them what I really think and do sometimes. Normal people don't get so upset over tiny things that they want to kill themselves. Wow, I think maybe I have big problems.
My two friends have never been clubbing before and neither have I. They want me to go clubbing with them on Fri. I think I will go. I think I might have to get drunk first.

Drinking does release inhibitions and lets down your guard but sometimes you end up behaving in ways you wouldn't otherwise, you know? I've had some bad experiences, speaking as an old party person.

Hi there, Deneb,
Please be very careful about alcoholic beverages, especially since you're on that antidepressant. You're on Celexa, right? They might not combine well. We like having you around here, and we don't want you to get sick.
Take care.

Once (actually a few times) I took more than the recommended dose of dextromethorphan and that's probably more dangerous with SSRI's because they can cause serotonin syndrome. I got pretty messed up and threw up.
