Hi Link,
>Well, if she upped her mellaril then maybe she could see through that.
You think her 'religiosity' is part of her illness?

Do you have anyone in mind?

"You think her 'religiosity' is part of her illness?"
Perhaps she would be the same if she had not been raised in a such a religious environment, I don't know.
I do think that what she has been taught does not always lend itself to an often unforgiving mind.

Yeah, but I'm intimidated by the dynamics of the situation.

I hope you don't mind that I've changed the subject line.
Parents can be more accepting than we give them credit for. My mom is catholic, but when my sister came out she was ok. Confused at first, sure, with all the <is it my fault> guilt stuff. Denial for a while <it's a phase>
But when it came down to it, her love for my sister was more important than any past indoctrination.
I would think a more important question would be to ask yourself how much honesty with them would play a factor in your mental health. Seems like you've tried everything else.

I don't know how much my orientation has to do with my mental health problems. I've spent much more time worrying about other things in the past few years.
For me, it was just a realization that I have become comfortable with. I love my parents dearly, but I'm just not convinced that telling them right now would make them or me any happier.
I didn't say I'd never tell them, but I think that it may just need more time.

My biggest problem, I guess, is that I'm still in school. While I'd love to meet somebody, I'm not sure I'd know how to ballance the two.
Asside from that, not much, except for the obvious problems like trying to determine weather a particular feeling is mutual.

Only one sure way to find out ask! And Auntie Mel you're so right. The happiness of our children is much more important. What people do behind closed doors is their business. Anyone else agree? Fondly, Phillipa

Crazy the way the mind works, isn't it? Though I can see where you are coming from.
I am attracted to mainly kindness and honesty.
>Is he definately gay?Yeah, but there when things don't work out, there is always old man SSRI to help me see things from a different angle.

Hi PJ
(You've been somewhere?)
Yeah exactly, who cares?
I think people who care about it don't have enough to worry about, or that's what I say to myself, anyway. I can think of lots of other things to worry about.

Well bud, give it a try on the female side, at least one time. You might be surprised. There is still hope...
