I am considering working on becoming a medical transcriptionist. Does anyone here do that? If so, do you like it?
I can work from home so I could still be here for my kiddos, and yet make an income.
Anyone know much about it?

I don't, but a friend of mine recently started and seems to like it well enough. She mentioned, recently, the bonus of being able to take everyday dramas to a whole new level: "I don't have to complain about headaches anymore, I can complain of acute cephalgia." Is there anything specific you'd like to know? I could get you in touch with my friend if you'd like.

thanks a lot, that would be great.
I'd love to hear from someone who is doing this already.
I'll send you my email.
Thanks a bunch.

I did this for a while for a small clinic and it wasn't too bad. It can get kind of monotonous, but it's nice to be able to do it whenever (if you have that kind of freedom in the place you work for) and it's nice to be able to do it from home. The money at the place I worked for wasn't bad. You have to be kind of driven I think and not a procrastinator because you just aren't all that stimulated. It's a good fit for me for now because I am agoraphobic and if you're doing fairly well it can be cool. If you're pretty depressed it doesn't help that too much (not to sound down on it because it does feel really good to be productive too). Anyway, I didn't do it for too long; I'm hoping to do it again soon (I need to post my "resume" somewhere), but if you have any questions, feel free to post back :).
