I kind of know what you mean. I think I'm just starting to come down with something and there is no way I can take a day off because there is no one to replace me.

Your boss shouldn't have said that to you. Employees are human beings for goodness sake! Is there any way you could get a doctor's note to justify your absence?

Want me to slap him upside the head and unleash the screaming banshee on him? (or her?)

Seriously, I'm sorry you had to deal with that. What a jerk.

Cough on him smokey, HARD, really get some good phlegm on him.
People get sick, that my friend is a fact of life. I hope you'll feel better soon so you can write a story for the newspaper about what an *ss your boss is!!

that DOES sound terrible! I'm sorry. I think Deneb's idea of the Dr.'s note is a great idea - can you get one, even from a walk-in clinic or something?

Your boss sounds like he's making a bad decision. If you're contagious, you could make others sick by coming in. And if you're sick, it's not right to ask you to suffer through it.

Maybe he's the kind of person who never gets sick himself and therefore does not care/appreciate/understand/believe when others do. I had a boss like that once...he was very suspicious of everyone's sick absence, because he never got sick and sort of expected that we should not, either. I hated it. I'm sooooo sorry you have to deal with that!

Hope you feel better soon.

Or work up some spit, put it on a tissue, and smear it on his keyboard and telephone!!
Honestly, do people think it *noble* to keep working while ill? It's just plain poor policy.
SM, I hope you're feeling better soon. And work on theatrical, clown-like sneezes, okay?? Wipe your nose with the back of your hand and then offer it to your boss <snicker>.

well, it took 5 days to get over this d*mn bug, but now i can eat again! Yes!

now i have sooo much catching up to do, since today is our deadline day. if my boss says anything about my being behind, i think i just might take some of all your advice. :-)

thanks so much, the moral support was much needed.
