Procrastination

Posted by Deneb on July 30, 2005, at 21:25:45

I have some major problems with procrastination!

I have stuff I should really attend to or want to do, but just cannot seem to start on.

I'm going to try something...

I'm going to post what I'm going to do for tomorrow and you guys will hold me accountable for doing them right? :-P

Ok, so I have to:

Fill out some forms
Organize my room
Pick courses to take for the fall
Read a book (I seriously haven't read anything in a really really long time! I think my brain is turning into mush!)

I seem pretty good with cleaning Hammy's cage, so I know that I CAN do things if I really need to do them. I just need to seriously motivate myself and stop filling up my time with distractions.

Does anyone else need to put up a "To Do" list here? I'll try to help you get it finished if I can!

Deneb, Oh yeah I've got one but it's a lot more complicated than yours. Here goes: l. Pack to go to Charlotte to find a house,2. wash dog to bring with us,3. Start a holding company for the proceeds from selling the lot that a guy called out of the blue yesterday and offered and already put downpayment on. Bought less than year ago for $45,000, sold for $95,000.4. Close in 2 weeks. 5. Identify home within 45days to roll-over 6. Hopefully meet Carolina while there, 7Continue trying to sell condo without Agent involved, 8. Qualify for home where shop can be built for my husband in Charlotte while he doesn't have a job and either do I. 9. Continue trying to see if someone will hire me at parttime hours in Charlotte as RN in psych. Hospitals say I need course and med/surg course and classes on line first. Then full time work before parttime. Nursing Board says not necessary since license is current.l0.Greg get job first. ll. Find a therapist l2. New pdoc l3.Reestablish relationship with daughter while therel4. Go to DC to Taste and Smell Center as I haven't had any in over a year. l5. Continue collecting medical records to bring with us from all specialists. All this by August ll. I'm tired already. Granted it's not one day's work but it's less than 2 weeks. Anyone else wonder why I'm a nervous wreck? Fondly, Phillipa

Wow Phillipa, that sure is a list! I'm guessing that it was the summarized version too!

Each item on your list would be like 20 items on my list! I have to break things down into "call x on the phone, take bus to y, talk to z and get w etc. etc.

It is not so easy for me to do things like call people up! This makes it very difficult to get appointments with people, I keep hesitating and hanging up.

You sure have a lot of things to do Phillipa. I'm sure you'll feel very good after finishing it all!

Yikes, I still haven't done anything on my list yet. Instead of working on the list, I decided to sleep more. Why the heck am I so tired on Sundays?! I get nothing done on my only day off!

It is a good thing I don't have to work tomorrow...it is a Civic Holiday.
