Friends, Romans, countrymen . . .
Well, I am thinking of leaving the board after 4 and half or so years. I try....tried to do THE right thing (well, I did, actually) and I end up with a knife in the back. Plus, there are certain posters who just don't like me..period...and make it be known by cutting down many posts I put up in a very negative and snarling fashion. I am a very, very gentle, compassionate, democratic and kind person, and maybe you can call me naive all you want..but peace love and happiness is my motto of good order. What is so bad about that??...nothing. As the great and broken down Pierre Trudeau did, I am off for my walk in the snow.

Well, you can’t please all the people all the time. Sometimes there are conflicts, even between people who like each other. There have been some really difficult things going on recently and it can be demoralizing. I hope that, in time, some bridges can be built. But at the moment I know there’s a lot of sadness.

I agree. You are gentle, compassionate, democratic and kind… which is why I like you! You’re also witty, fun, and an asset to the board.

Jay,Whenever one does something controversial, they will be met with support as well as antagonsim. You were brave and you took a stand. Don't give up the fight yet.
Many of us, including me, enjoy your posts and would like to see you stick around.

Please don't go. If I have said or done anything to cause you to feel this way then I truly apologise. I have seen you be very much the brave and true friend of late and you have my admiration for the stand you took.
Jay, sadly, as with Lar I hardly really know you, having only been here about 7 months. But I do know that I'd hate to loose you from this place and will miss you if you do go.

Folks...all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you! It made me feel really good getting all of the emails and posts of concern. I would be letting you down by leaving, and that, I am not going to do. "Illigitimi non carborundum", my friends, which is my favourite Latin saying. So, I refuse, resist..and not let anything, ever get the best of me. I hope the same for all of you too. Peace and best..
