Why is it most doctors and even the consultants in the mental health system are imbassiles. It's a consstant battle. I have been years waiting for a correct diagnosis and going to numerous therapists to stop me from crying or to make me a stronger person. I hate doctors or most of them. I am very angry and am fed up of being misdiagnosed and then left in the dark. I'm not stupid and i refuse to accept further demoralisation from what they call professionals!!!!

hi Adele,
I'm sorry you're having difficulties! I agree that many doctors just don't understand a LOT of things. I was actually talking to a "real" doctor at a party (a social situation) the other day, and she started cracking jokes about meds like Xanax and similar and how they make you "weird" and how she herself would NEVER try them b/c she didn't want to get messed up and addicted. I smiled politely and thought to myself that I'd NEVER go to her! With an attitude like that, how could she effectively prescribe meds for the right issues?Doctors are smart. They know a lot. But they don't know everything, and many of them don't know/admit that they don't know everything.
Stick with it, though...hopefully you'll find a good one soon!
I found a good primary care and she's helped me a lot.
take care,
JenStar
