Ha! Yeah, it can look scary on the TV, but of course TV childbirth is as dramatic as possible and bears about as much relation to real life as TV sex does to real life sex. I'm 35 and have spent less than eight hours of my life in labour (I have three kids). So no one would bother to put my easy, not-very-painful story on TV!

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to boast or anything, nor was I meaning to disparage the experiences of people who have had difficult deliveries. My point was only that TV has to think of the ratings.

it was interesting that they showed one of each type of labor/delivery. One woman was screaming at the top of her lungs and the other one could have eaten dinner while giving birth. Guess it all depends. I've never gone thru it so I can't say firsthand.

Mine either! Only have one, but I can relate. From admission into the hospital to actual time of birth was 3 hours and 2 minutes! And I went to work that morning, and to a regular checkup at about 8:30 am, where a nurse-midwife said, "oh yeah, you'll have this baby today...see you later." Worked until 1100 am, my hubby and I went back to the hospital 'cause pains were worse...they said they were "full" and to come back when you can't stand up straight. So, we walked for a while, then went back. It really was quick and not so awful. (But I did have some drugs)

I think I was built for it - yeah, it hurt, but kidney stones a few years later were MUCH worse!

Scarier than finding BK in your car's BACK SEAT!? Where he MOVES around and especially his freakin' fingers MOVE!!?

I think not! Bring on the babies! I was half falling asleep one night when I was at my relatives' last week, and I caught some of this new one.....told my dad (he's 80) I had a "friend" who didn't even want to open her blinds because of this menace to society.....my Dad laughed but told me he still likes BK food...

Is no place safe? Will these ads ever cease?

(didn't mean to divert the thread..it suddenly just came to me as something that was SCARY..)

yeah who's idea was it to make BK move his hands? » 10derHeart

and somehow they look a tad disembodied from the BK head...spookier than ever.
