Sometimes I think Dr. Bob is messing with my mind

Posted by Deneb on June 11, 2005, at 19:34:48

I don't know why I'm so fixated on this sometimes...maybe it's some type of PTSD. I'm getting all sorts of mixed and confusing messages from him, and sometimes others...probably all of my own imagining. I hate this feeling. Maybe it's paranoia?

hi Deneb,
why do you think he's messing with your mind? What specific posts or words make you think that? If you can point to specifics, maybe we can help you understand how they're "normal" and not "messing" kinds of things.

I'm sure he's not, though. Remember that you sometimes feel this way, and then you get over it and stop feeling it?

No one here wants to mess with you. Really! Just stay away from admin....lol. I think there are a few posters there, as PC pointed out, who DO want to push buttons!

Yes, I think you're right JenStar. I think I read way too much into actions and inactions here. I get a little paranoid. I think I project a lot. People seem so different depending on how I feel.

I think I'm doing better now...at least this time I was able to stop those thoughts. :-)

I think it may be best to not write long replies explaining things to me when I make these types of posts...replying may inadvertently reinforce this way of thinking. The best thing to do is to simply write:

Deneb, you're doing it again :-) (nm)

I think that may snap me out of it. :-)

Do you have any current plans for seeking treatment, Deneb? Are you going to wait for your doctor's maternity leave to end? I know that I feel that having a safey net of medical professionals who know what's going on really helps me when I'm in crisis.

Sorry to come back to this bra thing... and I don't mean to get too personal, so please feel free to ignore me if this is an imposition, but when was the last time you were properly measured? You mentioned that you have a small body, so I find it hard to believe you're really a 44DD. I'd guess you're more like a 36G.

The only reason I mention this is that I was wearing a 44DD until my friend, who is a doctor, took me shopping. Her mission was to get me properly fitted and make me start buying expensive bras. She didn't believe I was a 44DD, and she was right! Living in G-cup world is a bit more expensive, but better for my back than wearing the wrong size bra... And I weigh over 200 pounds. If you weigh less than that, I'd guess you're buying a bra too big across the back and not big enough in the cup.

Again, I apologise if I'm out of line mentioning this.

Not at the moment. I'm not quite so sure now that I *need* treatment because I'm no so sure that there is anything *wrong* with me.

>Are you going to wait for your doctor's maternity leave to end?

I think I'm just going to never see her again. She's quite busy.

I'm going to have to learn to cope on my own.

Thanks

I think it's great that you've made a decision to cope with this on your own - and you know that you've got us here for support.

PLEASE tell me where were you fitted! I've had several dept. stores fit me and each one tells me a different size, but none of them seem to fit.

I was fitted in department stores too; lots of different ones. Maybe I've just been lucky.

Half the problem is that different manufacturers seem to make their bras differently. And the style of the bra can make a difference too. I usually by one brand of bra and I'm a 36G, but I bought another brand recently and was a 36J (scary!). And if I buy balconette bras I can usually manage a 36FF. So you might really be different sizes in different bras.

I think it's worth getting fitted for every bra you buy.

Mind you, I know some people have real problems getting the things to fit properly. I have a friend who says she can't get bras to fit because she's a 33 C-and-a-half.

> I have National Geographic boobs! ;~}

That sounds pretty cool actually! My husband tells me that size is irrelevant; all breasts are good...

B2G in the UK will sell bras in dollars and send them to the US free. (Is it OK for me to mention this? If not I apologise)
http://www.b2g.ltd.uk/static/plus-size-bras.html
They also have helpful info about sizing on the site.

Check out some of their prettier styles:

I don't know what your mother would think of them though...

Of course, buying over the internet means you have to guess your size and return it if it doesn't fit, but if you can't find anything you like in the stores it might be worth it.
