Is anyone awake?

Posted by Angela2 on April 26, 2005, at 0:26:43

I don't feel like going to bed yet. Does anyone feel like talking?

Sure. I'm awake (it being only 5.30 and all).

What do you want to talk about?
How was your day?

Do you want to go in open? Or just talk right here Alexandra?

I can't do open.
So it'll have to be here.
Sorry about that.
I'm watching Dr Bob work the boards.
That always cracks me up :-)

Good old Dr. Bob.

Today was alright. I had a job interview (I'm looking for jobs and I'm graduating), went to class, that's pretty much it. I wish I'd done more.

How was your day Alexandra?

I think he is done now.

I had a fairly crappy day.
Went up to work...
Was going to do something...
I swear I was...
But I didn't.
Sigh.
I've been playing Sim City for the last 5 or 6 days now.
I hate that darned game.
I am so over it.
But I don't seem to be able to stop...
I get the educational (and health) systems all set up and then zone everything and throw in a few windmills then set it on the fastest speed and watch them move on in.
Keep upping the amount of funding...
Then watch the stats till they are all nice and educated...
Then reduce the tax on the high tech industry
Raise it on the dirty industry
Bulldoze the sh*t out of the dirty industry
(which only gets to make pollution) :-(
Then (and only then) give them water to increase density
Set up a few suburbs like that...

And then I get to build a university! Yay!

Over and over and over.
Bored to tears...

It was ok I suppose. I'm supposed to be writing my thesis...

Well, I'm looking for a job helping people because I'm still trying to figure out what it is that I want to do, but I just know I want to answer people's questions. So I applied for a job at the hallmark store and also as a secretary at a local hospital. The one today was at the hallmark store. It went OK. I'd say I have a 50% chance of getting the job. I think I presented myself very well except for the fact that I was very nervous.

I am studying psychology. I've got a ton of homework and studying I need to get done by the the 9th of May.

What's your favorite music artist and kind of music?

Cool. Have you thought about grad study? But you said you went to classes today... So you are still finishing up?

Cool :-)
I don't think it is bad to look nervous. It tells them that you are taking the process seriously and that the job means something to you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :-)

Ah. I did a bit of psych... Mostly Philosophy :-) I like philosophy of psychology. Cognitive psych especially.

Hmm. I'm not really so very much into music (rare - I know). But I like hip hop / rap. Eminem and stuff like that. I don't really keep up with modern music all that much. Haven't even heard of half the bands. Not so keen on mainstream pop.

What are you into?

Night night.
I should go grab some dinner.
Nice talking to you.
Really - I'm not sure that we have met properly before.

> Well, I like a lot of stuff Dave Matthews Band, Belle and Sebastian, Speaking canaries, Tori Amos, it varies with what my mood is.

Belle and Sebastian are cool! I have 2 of theirs. 'The boy with the arab strap' and... Um... Oh dear. The green one and the yellow one anyway. Every album has a different coloured cover. But yeah, they are really cool when you are in the mood.
:-)

Hey thanks GG! This year feels like its flown by. Remember last year when I wanted to quit and get a job? I'm really glad I didn't! I met my boyfriend here! (but of course, there's other reasons too, you know the ones)
