Winter

Posted by Susan47 on January 15, 2005, at 15:31:32

It's the very worst of times, for me.
I'm always cold.
I go everywhere bundled to the max.
Clothes under clothes under clothes.
Everything's dry, the inside of my nose, my throat, my eyes, my skin looks and feels like something that's being mummified.
H@ll, I LOOK like a mummy with all that clothing!!
Add to that the sun hardly ever shines and I DON'T WANT to be out there. There's not enough daylight, EVER.
Everybody cocoons.
Winter SUCKS the big one.
When my kids are grown I'm moving away. Far, far away, to a warm place. Where the sound of the ocean fills my ears every morning and evening, and warm breezes play in my hair, caress my skin. Where my skin is brown, soft, and smooth.
My eyes shine, my smile is bright (because of the teeth against the forever tan, you know).
My limbs feel good and they're strong and supple and active, because being outdoors is a Pleasure.
Where the sun is more of something to be escaped, than something to be missed.
Ahhhhh.
I'll not be a prisoner of this climate forever. Never.

AND Winter makes the streets dry and ugly with leftover dirty snow and white streaks of salt. And everything is gross. Gross, gross, gross.

Ah, I hate winter about as much as you do by the sounds of it! Now I am not bragging or anything, but it is summer here. We are whinging and whining about the heat :-(

Autumn and Spring, roll on Autumn and Spring :-)

I love winter.
it's a time for me to go inside and rest.
that's after the holidays.
I don't have sad so the dark days are pleasant.
the weather is always changing...
yesterday it was 50degrees
today it's in the 20's
I hate the sun all the time.
that's oppressive to me.
no bugs in winter
no pressure to go outside either
I am always hot so the cool air is like a healing balm on my fevered skin.
each season has delights and drawbacks

this cold settles deep into my bones... and now arthritis is bothering me... i can't shake the cold no matter what i do, even when my home has the heat on high, it doesn't matter. cold cold cold, until spring and the snow starts to melt.

i don't know how i ended up here. i should've found a job in southern california. or hawaii.
