which end is up question?

Posted by anastasia56 on January 9, 2005, at 22:07:14

ok now here's a question i'll lay odds no one has asked here before. I am truly not trying to be gross but this is a situation i just found myself in and i wonder how other people have handled it.

i just got over the stomach flu with vomiting and diarrhea...at the same time. My question is, you have one toilet but two issues. I'm not even sure i want an answer but while i was facing (or not facing) this problem it was, at the time, quite important to me and someday i may visit it again (gawd i hope not). We are a clever lot here in babbleland so i know someone has a solution i didn't think of. thanks!

Lmao this is funny in an odd way...Once I had bad food poisening and was in THAT spot in my mom and dads NEWLY painted bathroom....I had projectile vomiting and ....it hit the wall across the room...I was NOT going to stand up.....this kept on..Thank god they had a trash can right near the toilet so I did use THAT from that first burst on...poor mom cleaned it up..I am sure she would have rather cleaned up what she did over the stuff from the other end.

My mom always taught me to keep a solid plastic wastebasket in the bathroom, for just such a situation. Dumping a few paper products and wrappers on the floor to emptly the basket was no big deal to clean up, and it left you with a nice portable alternate container.

Ok so over here we just use bowls. Quite common for little kids to go to bed with a bowl - and big kids too. Course you wash them and disinfect them pretty good after you're done. But bowls, yeah.

so the bucket/bowl thing seems to be the ticket. That was the only thing i could think of too, although it all happened too fast for me to go get one (the current trash can is not solid). In the future, however, I will be prepared! My preference would be for something disposable. If i so much as hear someone vomiting, i feel like barfing...not good with that or cleaning out a barf can afterwards...geez, i'm feeling sick again just thinking about it.

your mom sounds like one organized lady. My mother insisted our family never got the flu. Consequently when the fur flew, nothing was where it could have been.

Lmao I was like 14 at the time she left my brothers in charge of the swiss steak she made and well the rest is history. Oddly mom would clean up to this day I think....even after you :)

I know someone who had an event 'from both ends at the same time', but he was in the shower at the time. *NOT* nice!!
