For Dr. Bob, about posting.

Posted by michellemybell on November 29, 2004, at 14:26:20

Hello Dr. Bob,

I read the rules about posting for another person in the the link you posted, thank you for doing so. Although I disagree with your actions/descisions, this is your creation. I now cleary understand that I can not post for someone else, but am I allowed to post information or talk about someone who is blocked without them asking me to do so? Of course I would not say anything innepropriate/derogatory. Let me know.

Thanks,
Michelle

Hi Michelle :) I do not know the answer but till Doc Bob can get to this post you may want to post it on the Administration Board...I THINK? that is more the area to ask him things. Good luck and I didn't know it was wrong either but I am glad I have her addy :)

Bob,

This may seem a stretch for this thread.... It addresses the issue of indefensibility for inappropriate and derogatory posts aimed at us when we are blocked or otherwise asked not to post.

Since I'm currently asked not to post by two or three souls here at Babble, if they volunteer anything inappropriate or deprecating toward me, how do I call them on their injustices? As you know by now, I'm not timid, likewise not easily wounded. I ask this question seeking fairness not retribution.

They, for-what-ever-reason, may have decided I was dangerous to their stability and asked me to never post to them again. Incidentally, five have rescinded their estoppel orders, first and most notable was our dear (((Dinah))), an act for which I am forever greatful. I was literally in tears reading her post that took back her no-post request.

Yet those who don't want my input, have posted to and about me, and my posting threads. Sometimes the posts have been "un-nice"!

Where is equity, Dr. Bob? Like I said, I'm not "thin-skinned" and welcome all comment(s).

1. Babble is largely an anonymous forum, to boot..... so why encourage and enforce no-post requests?
2. How can my response, appropriate and chock-full of good intentions, be considered dangerous to someone I don't know and don't want to hurt or threaten in any way?
3. Also, many months have passed since I was last asked by Gabbix and one or two others, not to post to them. What if I accidentally respond to their post(s) because time-and-tides have passed and I forgot that there was a lingering issue? Your enforcement by blockage at such a point is inequitable. Please advise...

If someone who asked that you not post to them posts to you, then the block is rescinded. The party who erects the blockade must respect it as well, or the block is void.

I thought so, too, and redirected my response to Psycho-Babble Administration:
