I recently took an art class and the instructor asked us, "what is beauty?"
the deeper I got into the answer the less I knew about this thing we call beauty.
So I'd love to hear your ideas.

Anything that pleases/inspires..ugly can transform itself into beauty when another aspect of the uglyness reveals itself or is revealed by another whom inspires you??
Stating the obvious.
beauty is fluid and depends on the eye of beholder.
BEHOLD! I see beauty..you are beautiful.
Chickens are ugly beasts but on close inspection ( when the beast is sleeping aided by a chickie hypnotic ) it's surface it can be beautiful.
Parsnips taste ugly.
People who know they're very beautiful I see them as ugly...I'm very ugly.

i think beauty is what makes our hearts, minds and souls feel soft and peaceful.

i don't think of beauty as what it "IS", but what it "does".

a newborn wearing feety pajamies
laying peacfully on my chest..glitter embedded into the carpet
and a few on the bridge of a childs nose..the frost on a polar ice bottle fresh from the freezer..
tiny hand prints on glass...
the smell of a old crayons and a good cup of black tea..
anything and everything
i made a beautiful sheppards pie tonight..while my daughter played "nadia's theme" over and over on the piano..

Beauty is life in its purest form - unafraid, unaffected, accepting, honest and free and just being. It's not eye candy, it's heart, soul and spirit candy.

For me, it's sincere kindness not the "have to do" or shoulds or even the polite stuff , a truely beautiful thing is sincere...like a birds song.
