Dr. Seuss

I love Dr. Seuss. My ex is reading it to the children and he's enjoying himself (for the first time ever) reading aloud. And the kids are loving it too. It's okay to start a sentence with a preposition. Or whatever.

I do too, but there's another one that I like better. Shel Silverstein poetry. "Sarah Sylvia Cynthia Stout, would not take the garbage out....."

Priceless.

I'll look for that Auntie Mel! That sounds really cool. Is Shel Silverstein from the sixties?

My husband and I were delighted to share our love of Dr. Seuss with our son, but we loved him even with no children around and already had most of his books.

Is hard to explain. He has done wonderful childrens books, but also written lots of quirky music. Mostly early 70s. Among them "I got stoned and I missed it" done by Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. amd "a boy named Sue" done by Johnny Cash

He's got a web site for the kids stuff...

I highly recommend "Where the Sidewalk Ends" I sent it to my friends kiddos in the UK and they called it 'quite gigglish'

Dr Seuss taught my son the alphabet before he started school! And he spent an entire weekend watching Cat in the Hat over and over, and over again!!
