Hey you! Have you ever received helpful advice from Larry? Ever wonder, "How, oh how can I ever repay him????" Here's your chance!!!!
You may not know me, but I'm a pal of Larry Hoover and his beloved xxx. Yes, did you know? They live on opposite sides of their country, but are madly in lus..oops..love. :-)
Last week, Lar sadly posted on Social a note regarding the death of xxx's PC. He also noted her lack of funds to purchase a new one. This is a serious problem for love birds on distant shores! Not only that, but xxx desparately needs the support of all her Babble friends and visa versa!!
So, if you have ever felt indebted to Lar for helping you with a meds/alternative posting board issue, here is a great way to show your gratitude! He has given free help here for ages! (pay back's an itch, eh?)
Of course, asking for donations is against Babble policy, and I'll get spanked for this by Dr. Bob, but hopefully, he'll leave the post up! (And frankly Bob, you had better make a sizable contribution yourself!!)
Thanks.
Emmy, always a romantic

Hi guys- you don't know me but I'm a close friend of xxx :D
This post won't be up long so i hope you get it.
Paypal www.paypal.com is the easiest way to transfer money. There will be instructions on the site. it's really easy. Any little tiny bit would be immensely appreciated. xxx was bawling when I told her of the outpouring.
Her paypal username is xxx.
If you're sending from the states, send it as payment for "services" or "goods". they won't accept "quasi cash" from the US to Canada.Sorry to sound so business-like!
and- thank you guys so much.
Even if you don't can't anything, your responses and thoughts are such wonderfully kind gestures.Emmy- Thank you soooo much for posting! Sorry you got blocked
I sent you babblemail but well, you know...karen

Please do not request money directly from others here. The last time you were blocked, it was for 16 weeks, so this time, it's for 32.
If you or anyone else has questions about this or about posting policies in general, please see the FAQ:

Also, follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration.

What is your take on this idea of soliciting money for your honey?
I just can't wrap my mind around this.
KK and TofuEmmy spoofing you?
What is really going on here?
These two women are really nice people.
What is going on?
I just gotta know.

> I just gotta know. There were off-Babble discussions about how help could be obtained, as by "passing the hat". It was clearly against Babble policy to do so here. In certain instances, I actively sought to dissuade the posters from posting here. In another, I was unaware that it would even happen. In each case, the poster felt it was worth risking a block, to follow their own conscience. In that, I am proud of them. In their being blocked, I am saddened. (32 weeks? That's quite a price to pay.)
Lar
P.S. I myself would not have had the opportunity to have come to Babble, had I not been the recipient of a similar act of compassion. I came to Babble on a "pass the hat" computer, organized by a friend of mine.

I am wondering who the xxx is. I haven't seen anyone posting as xxx.
Does this mean she has three letters in her posting name?
Sorry I'm so dense. Since I was blocked from posting to you until recently, I just didn't follow your posts. So I am blissfully unaware.
My computer is dying as well.
The wave of old computers and the incoming of the new....
I'm happy to be getting my new one.

Hello Larry. About seven or eight years ago, I bought a computer from a store that got computers and other office equipment from corporations that were disgarding them because they were upgrading their systems. The store refurbished the used computers and then sold them at greatly reduced prices. Perhaps you or your friend can try to find out whether there is a similar store near you.

Thanks Larry for the offer for me to babblemail to you but alas I haven't learned the rules for open or babblemail. So I don't know how to do that.
Thanks for the offer.
I hope all is well with you and your friend.

To Lar and "XXX"
If I had anything to contribute I most assuredly would. I regret deeply that I do not. I hope to see everybody online again soon.
Much love

I'm sure she will address the issue herself, but there were many tears of gratitude shed these last few days (hers and mine).
