NH Babble Rabble

Posted by deirdrehbrt on August 19, 2004, at 20:52:18

OK, it wasn't quite a rabble, but it was a group of babblers. With Ice cream. Falls, Ghost, and I got together this evening. It was the first time that I got together to meet another babbler face-to-face. (Falls and I knew each other before I found out about babble.)
I have to say that I am not disappointed at all in having met another babbler. I've known Falls for a while, and She has always struck me as a beautiful person. Ghost, now that I have met her, is absolutely the kind of person that I can say I am fortunate to have met.
Being an engineer, I would have to say that by extrapolation, and given what I see here, that at least most, if not all of us are the sort that I wouldn't mind as neighbors.
We were wondering tonight, and some of you might have some input.... What can you tell of a person by the flavor of ice cream and the type of cone? Is there some psychological information that might be gleaned?
The world is waiting to hear.

Dee.

Since I've always favored basic flavors like chocolate and vanilla, I've always hoped that you can't tell ANYthing about a person from their preferred ice cream.

I'm jealous-- I've never met any babblers f2f. So what kind of ice cream did you have?

It was wonderful!

I had Chocolate Peanut Butter (needed the chocolate because I had therapy that afternoon), it couldn't be JUST chocolate because I don't like just chocolate, so there has to be something *in* it, but the something can't be sharp or hard or my tongue gets sore licking the ice cream)on a sugar cone. I got a medium because it was too hot to eat a large before it all melted. The comment was made that I was very neat with my cone - I attribute that to lots of practice.

Ghost was my first meet-in-person-Babbler. What a lovely way to start!

Of course, an evening with Dee is always a pleasure.

I was trying to remember BICC when I posted earlier, which is now the *official* name of the group. :-) Ford the poets around here it could be the BICC click? who knows....
I had frozen pudding in a sugar cone.... medium, for the same reason as Falls. Except that mine was dripping as it came through the window, and I got a bit messy. It was VERY good though. Even better given the company.

Babblers and ice cream.... the best combo around.

Dee.

My favorite flavor is macadamia nut in a sugar cone. Does that mean I'm sweet, but nuts?

I think you guys are brave and fun-loving to meet in real life. I'm glad that you got along!

I think it would be fun to meet Babblers, but also a bit unnerving (for me.) What if people hated me in person? What if they think I'm ugly? Or that I smell bad? (after a day with my puppy, this isn't too far off the mark!)

Can you tell that I'm an anxious person? (grin)

The ice-cream thing...my favorite has always been Rocky Road. I'm not sure what that would say about me (other than I perhaps make my life too difficult for myself??)

Poet, I thought your ice-cream assesment was really funny!

This is making me really hungry.
I love chocolate and vanilla...always. Chocolate alone is too bitter and vanilla is too sweet. I like high fat content.
Yum.
the macadamia nut....
my wildest dreams have come true! I'd love to try that.
Rocky road is so yummy...
I must stop or I won't be able to stop.
I love the stiff sugar cones with the point at the bottom (I would bite off the bottom to drain off the melting icecream) but the waffle weave looks real good too.
Now I would love a big cone...
nope it's off my diet.
I just can't.
Wonderful to play eat with you all.

Fears about meeting people?
I have them too. I guess I always do, but just not enough to keep me from going somewhere where I might find someone I really like. Meeting a fellow babbler was only a small risk, as we already knew something of each other. I figured if Ghost was willing to meet me after some of the stuff I've written, then I just have to meet whoever might be that brave.
Besides, we've already shared much more here than any group meeting blind would have, so I considered it relatively safe. I hope everyone here has an opportunity and experience like we did.

Dee.

you worry far too much. i bet we'd all eat you up (so to speak) and think the world of you irl as much as we do here on the board.

Mair,

Are you in this area? You can email me at babble fallsfall - a hotmail account. I'd rather not post too much detail on the web...
