I would call. It sounds like you need a T's support for this upcoming big move (I know I would!) and there's really no reason wait. I mean, what could it hurt? You don't have to pour your soul out to him, but he may be able to help you get your anxiety under some sort of control before you move. I say go for it.

Please call - waiting will only make you more anxious.
p.s. so wonderful to see your post, kellyr.

I totally agree with the other posters to get some support.
I know I have anxiety about taking short trips much less moving.
Moving is really a big step.
It sounds like you've got some family support and that's good.
Kelly, I came from the midwest and it's full of nice people.
Please keep posting to us, we will support you as much as we can.
So when does all this begin?
I will be thinking of you.

Kelly,

I don't know you but I wanted to say that I moved from NY to OK about 15 years ago. Life you we couldn't afford to live on the east coast anymore. We like OK very much and it is lots cheaper to live here. The people are very friendly and caring, there is very little snow, hardly any traffic, it's just so easy to live here. Even the Ts are cheaper! I don't like to give advice to people I don't know, but if I were you I could call for a new T. If you aren't moving until fall, it's a long time to go without support.

From one Sooner to a soon to be one,

Lucy

kelly,

i just made a big move from nebraska to the east coast (moved back in with my folks-- there are posts above about it). i saw a T for about a month or so weekly before the big move... we didn't cover much since she didn't know me well, but she helped prepare me for the big move and the road trip to get here with coping mechanisms and whatnot. i wish i'd had more time to spend with her, she was really great. but she knew our time was limited and did the best to make good use of what we had. i think most T's will do this, and it sounds like you would really benefit. i know i did.

good luck, and good luck with your move, too! i completely understand your situation...

I called today and my old T said that someone will call me soon. My old T said that it a new lady T that will call me with in a week, it because of all the rain we had and flooding that they weren't in the building on mon or tuesday. so i might not see anyone before i leave to OK. But i do see the nurse on monday for meds maybe she could speed things up.
