$5.00/week is not bad, especially considering the cost of some of the programs out there. I think I will check it out.

Hi!
I am starting Atkins today! I am wondering if I can eat salad dressings like caesar and ranch? I am about to go grocery shopping for the stuff. I am really excited and ready to loose some weight!!

Trucker, can you explain a little bit of the diet to me. I have been on Atkins since January but I am looking to try something different. I have heard that South beach is kind of similar. Can you still have full fat salad dressing. I cant live without that? Everything else I can do without. I have already given up sugar completely, except for fruit. Congrats on your weight loss and I have no doubt that you can do this! Maybe we can do it together for support. I know I can use it sometimes. Mrs. C

Lexy, I eat italian. I think anything with less than 2 carbs per serving is okay. Lots of companies now have low carb salad dressing. I have tried the ranch and it is very good. No difference that I could tell from regular ranch. Even my daughters didn't notice. A little tip for you, don't buy low carb cereal or bread. YUCKY with capital letters! Also get yourself some sugar free candy. Russell Stovers makes really good ones. It got me through some tough times in the beginning. Good luck, Mrs. C

the bread does taste pretty bad, but if you toast it it is much better. put a little butter or olive oil on both sides and stick it in the toaster oven.

Mrs. C,
Can I have some of the candies you mentioned during the "induction phase". I am thinking I will lose some on Low Carb then switch back the weight watchers when I get to a weight I would like to maintain. Does this sound like a OK idea? When do you start to see the weight drop off, man I am ready!

In reply to Mrs. C, and the low carbers, posted by sexylexy on July 8, 2004, at 22:39:41
Yes, I did have the candy during induction. Just not alot. I would take a bite or two during the day when I had sugar cravings. I did not see any results until the two weeks were up. I weighed myself every day and didn't lose a pound. Then it just happened. Seven pounds were gone in 2 weeks! You'll do fine but it's hard during the first week. You may have sugar withdrawal. I will be here if you need me. Just a click away. Mrs. C

For everyone out there scratching their heads right now... I had told Lexy that I could relate to the little fish, Dorey, in Finding Nemo. (The one with short-term memory loss.) And that I, like Dorey, could also speak whale. (Can't explain - you have to see the movie to understand...)
